Can't install Intel drivers for Intel UHD Graphics 630 on ASUS ZenBook 15

Hi,

I am having an issue installing the drivers. I've got an error: This installation is not supported by this processor type

The device is shown in windows Device manager as: Microsoft Basic Display Adapter.

Notebook is: ASUS ZenBook 15 UX550GD

With Windows 10 Enterprise 2016 LTSB Version 1607 OS Build 14393.2724

I've tried removing the driver, installing in all possible ways and all possible versions. No luck.

Please advice where I can see more detailed information regards the issue? Or how it could be resolved?

Hi Ilya, Thank you for posting in the Intel® Communities Support. We recommend to install the graphics driver provided by the manufacturer of the computer, in this case ASUS, since that driver was customized by them to work with your specific platform. Not sure if you already try the following option, but we can try is to install the driver manually: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005629/graphics-drivers.html I looked in ASUS's web site for the latest graphics driver and the driver available in there is V23.20.16.5017.10, https://www.asus.com/Laptops/ASUS-ZenBook-Pro-15-UX550GD/HelpDesk_Download/ I also verified the specifications of the laptop, and it says that the graphics controller being used belongs to NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1050: https://www.asus.com/Laptops/ASUS-ZenBook-Pro-15-UX550GD/Tech-Specs/ So if the problem persists, you can always try to install the Nvidia driver 417.35: https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/141169/en-us Also, the computer works with Intel® UHD 630, so you can always try to install the Intel generic graphics driver version 25.20.100.6471: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/28445/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10?product=126790 Regards, Alberto R. Hi Albert,

Thank you for a fast replay.

When I try the manual install solution you have provided, I've got the following result:

On step 11: Click OK, and finally click Next. Drivers are now being installed.

I've got an error message saying that: The folder does not have a driver for x64 OS. see an attached image:2019-01-11 10_52_42-VGA_Intel_Coffeelake_Win10_64_VER2320164974.png No matter what .inf file I select. The NVidia driver is installed and up to date. Would you advise me how I can resolve the Intel graphics driver issue?

The latest driver from Intel site fails with the error message that I mentioned in my original post as well.

Maybe I need an older version of the driver that is supported by my OS? I see that new drivers only support the following OS versions:

Microsoft Windows® 10-64 - Fall Creators Update (1709)

Microsoft Windows® 10-64 - April 2018 Update (1803)

Microsoft Windows® 10-64 - October 2018 Update (1809)

That are higher than my OS version (Windows 10 Enterprise 2016 LTSB (1607)

Maybe you can guide me where I can download an older version that supports this OS or we can find the reason for an error in any log file or something.

Thanks

its better to upgrade to windows 10 64bit 1803 or 1809. intel produces 64bit

or else choose graphics folder , uninstall the existing graphics driver ,then install manually

Unfortunately that is not an option for me, because it is a corporate notebook and OS is installed by the company IT helpdesk personel.

Ilya, In this case to upgrade the OS will be the option to try, Windows LTSB (Long-Term Servicing Branch (LTSB) only does security updates, that might be the reason why you cannot install the graphics driver: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/windows-10/release-information The best thing to do will be to keep using the Windows* basic driver or to get in contact with Microsoft * directly for further suggestions on this matter: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us Also, you can get in contact with ASUS directly for them to provide additional assistance: https://www.asus.com/support/# Regards, Alberto R.
