Cant set the maximum refresh rate even if supported

I recently bought a new monitor(Samsung Monitor Gaming Odyssey G5 (C32G53) 32") and even tho my wanted configuration is in the supported modes, I cant set more then 60Hz, instead of the 144Hz I should be able to have.

I tried connecting the new monitor to my roommate's computer and it worked perfectly, so i know the cable or the monitor itself arent the problem.

I've attached the screenshot and a report, please help me to fix my issue.

Intel Core i7-10870H is a Comet Lake platform:

Since the graphics report for this laptop shows HDMI as the connection type, I assume that there is no LSPCON on this motherboard.

So the HDMI version is 1.4 with an available bandwidth of 9 Gbps (297 MHz TMDS).

 

2560 × 1440 @ 60Hz RGB 8-bit = 241 MHz TMDS. This fits into HDMI 1.4.

2560 × 1440 @ 144Hz RGB 8-bit = 605 MHz TMDS. This does NOT fit into HDMI 1.4

 

The monitor reports via EDID:

 

Detailed Timing Descriptor:

    DTD 1:  2560 × 1440     144 Hz     16:9     213 kHz     580 MHz (698 mm x 393 mm)

                 Hfront   8     Hsync  64     Hback   88     Hpol    P

                 Vfront   3     Vsync     5     Vback   33     Vpol    N

    Display Range Limits:

      Monitor ranges (GTF): 50-144 Hz V, 30-214 kHz H, max dotclock 590 MHz

 

 

Most Comet Lake laptops should have an USB-C port with DP or even Thunderbolt 3.

You should use this cable then to connect the laptop to the monitor.

 

2560 × 1440 @ 144Hz RGB 8-bit = 84% DP 1.2 HBR2 (454 MHz)

2560 × 1440 @ 144Hz RGB 10-bit HDR = 105% DP 1.2 HBR2 (567 MHz but below the monitor's limit of 590 MHz)

 

When the cable is plugged ensure this setting within the monitor's configuration menu:
