Command And Conquer 3 Tib wars and Kanes Wrath wont work on Intel graphics 5500

whenever i try to play either of these two games, they crash and i an error message pops up saying "exception in exception handler"now, i've done the whole ask windows for support and they said it's a graphical issue not the OS's issue so they told me to go ask my graphics card manufacturer. I also asked around on Steam and people there said to download the Intel Beta graphics driver, which i've also tried and my computer tells me that my graphics card is up to date and no update is needed...so now im right stuck, any help getting these games to work would be awesome.

In order to better assist you, we just need to verify a few details:

 

 

What is the model of the processor?

 

 

What is the model of the motherboard?

 

 

If this is a laptop, what is the model of the laptop?

 

 

Which Windows version are you using?

 

 

Since the PC is works with Intel graphics 5500, on the following link you will find the latest version of the graphics driver for that controller, not sure if you tried this driver already, please un-install the current graphics driver from device manager, and install the following:

 

 

Driver 4501:

Operating System: Windows 10 Home 64-bit (10.0, Build 14393) (14393.rs1_release_inmarket.161004-2338)

Language: English (Regional Setting: English)

System Manufacturer: TOSHIBA

System Model: Satellite S50-B

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-5200U CPU @ 2.20GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.2GH

having trouble finding info about the motherboard, in the cmd promt menu i type in "wmic baseboard get product,Manufacturer,version,serialnumber" and it just displays "Board vender name 1 Board product name 1 Board serial number" so i might be doing something wrong there.

the info i provided above, is that enough? im not the most tech savvy so i hope that's what you needed.

when it comes to deleting my driver and installing the ones you provided above, out of the two i seem to have on my laptop, which one do i delete??

In regard to your question, the one that you need to delete is the one that says Intel® Graphics 5500, by right clicking on it and select un-installed.

 

 

Also, since the laptop is using switchable graphics, that means it has the Intel graphics and AMD graphics, please follow the instructions on the file attached to this thread, and let us know the results.

when trying to install driver 4501 i get an error message saying that this driver is not supported by this processor.

and trying to install beta driver 4539 just keeps reloading the same page and doesn't take me to a download page.

the instructions you gave me were for Nvidia graphics card which i don't have.I'm running AMD. i still right clicked on my desktop and got the below message

If the problem persists, after trying the steps above, then one option will be to get in contact with Toshiba directly, to get further support or warranty on the laptop, they might have a specific driver for this product and also you can check with the if a BIOS update is recommended in this case.

hey alberto

i've successfully reinstalled my AMD drivers even though i have no idea how they got deleted when all i did was delete the Intel 5500 graphics driver.

also the beta driver you keep linking me is either non existent or in a different place,below is a capture of what I get when clicking the link.

Hey Alberto

the issue is still present with the updated AMD driver. still get the error message "exception in exception handler"

i downloaded the Beta driver and extracted the files to a folder in my downloads section, i then followed the instructions in How to manually install a driver exactly yet i still got this message.

According to the graphics report, the driver installed is the 4474, so, please un-install that driver manually and re-install the 4539 driver again, then get the graphics report when the driver gets installed.

 

 

Also, attached to this post you will find some instructions that will help us narrow the problem, we had reports where this problem gets fixed installing the 4539 beta driver.
