There seems to be some kind of graphical corruption in XBMC with the new drivers ... icons/logos get corrupted in the interface and there are some other minor corruptions in lists (will upload images later when i get home).
I'm running the latest 64-bit drivers on two different systems both with an i3 (HD 4000) and both experience the same problem.
Operating system used is win 8 (one PRO and the other "vanilla" win 8). System 1 is runnig XBMC 12 and the other XBMC 12.1 and both are runnig the "Aeon Nox" skin .. same corruption in both.
Can someone else please confirm this issue.

I can confirm that the new graphics driver 9.17.10.3071 does not work correctly with XBMC 12.1 whereas the previous version of the driver used to. Using XBMC on Windows 8(64 bit). Processor Intel Core i7 3770K (HD4000)
The XBMC GUI looks corrupted ie icons not displayed correctly. Running Aeon Nox skin. Some of the text looks garbled. Please help!!!

I too noticed a problem in XBMC after upgrading to the latest Intel HD 4000 driver 9.18.10.3071.
The on-screen display playback controls are all distorted. I have to move the mouse cursor over the distortion to see the pause and stop icons.
The dark shading on the top and bottom of the screen is just lines instead of a smooth black smoked effect.
I tried the latest version of XBMC (Gotham) with the same result.
Rolling back to 9.17.10.2932 fixes the problem.
I was able to use the new HD Audio driver 6.16.0.3106 though by manually selecting the new version in Device Manager.
So, I have the latest audio but not video.

I can add some more "findings":
* DSUB (DVI->VGA-converter to VGA screen) is affected i the same way.
* HDMI is affected in the same way.
* Even running TightVNC (remote desktop) against the machines produce the same corruption.
Have not had the time to take pictures and upload but it's quite easy to test for Intel "in-house".
Any fixes/workarounds? Intel?

I have tested this with the latest and previous versions of the generic driver in our web site and using Aeon Nox running XBMC 12.1 and I have confirmed what you mentioned.
Thank you for the feedback, I will forward this, for further investigation.

I am experiencing the same problems with an Intel core i5 3470 with HD2500 Graphics. I am using the latest driver software from the intel update site as well as XBMC Frodo 12.2 update.
My OS is Windows 8 64bit, 8GB DDR 3 1600 Ram.
It's almost June, will there be an updated driver or fix available soon?

The issue has been identified and a fix would be available on the next release of the driver however we cannot provide an estimated time for this to happen

I was able to fix the graphics corruption problem on my install of XBMC 12.2 and Windows x64 as follows. Although the readme.txt says these are Windows 8 drivers, they work fine on Windows 7. Intel seems to use a unified graphics driver for 8 and 7, and this theory played out here.
- Download the x64 3214 beta drivers zip file at the following link:
http://downloadmirror.intel.com/22935/a08/Win64_1533b.zip http://downloadmirror.intel.com/22935/a08/Win64_1533b.zip
- If you need the 32-bit 3214 beta drivers look here. I have not tested these like the 64 bit drivers.
http://downloadmirror.intel.com/22938/a08/Win32_1533b.zip http://downloadmirror.intel.com/22938/a08/Win32_1533b.zip
Extract the zip file and run setup.exe. Install drivers and reboot.

Nice, it seems that the beta driver fixed the issue for me as well.
Let's hope that it won't change in the final driver version and Intel will release it soon.
Thanks.
