DCH HD Graphics Drivers for Server 2016?

Hello,

Ever since the switch to DCH Drivers I am no longer able to install these on my Windows Server 2016 box. It simply says it's not supported and refuses to run the installer. Is there an alternative or am I stuck using drivers from 2018?

What DCH driver? Provide your processor model number, and your motherboard model number. If you are a laptop, provide that model number.

It's an i3-6100T. Board is an MSI C236M Workstation. Driver version is dch_igcc_win64_25.20.100.6618

What we have here is a need to upgrade to 2019 if you want any chance of using the DCH drivers. 2016 is just too old.

1) What do you mean Server 2016 is too old? It released only 3 years ago. Windows 10 released 4 years ago and is still supported. Mainstream support for S2016 doesn't even end until 2022.

2) Upgrading is simply not an option. Microsoft removed the essentials role in Server 2019. I depend on this for nightly backups of all client machines in my home.

Then you are stuck with what is available (build 6229 is last I could find). It doesn't appear that Intel supports the DCH drivers for Intel HD Graphics 530 on Windows Server 2016.

You could always try hacking the INF files to try and add Server 2016 support - or perhaps someone has already done so? Check the interweb.

I'll definitely try this little work-around.
