Display driver stopped responding and has recovered

Hello Community,

I have upgraded my Sony SVF1532BGXB to Windows 10 Pro.

From time to time, I get "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered" error.

Sony has not released a new driver for Intel HD Graphics for Windows 10 yet.

Intel Driver Update Utility reports my driver is outdated and there is a new version available, however after downloading and during installation, it says the driver I am going to install is older than what is installed already ().

The current driver version is 10.18.15.4279.

Is my current driver old or not?

What is the solution to the "stop responding" error?

Regards

Hossein

I have the same problem with my HP Pavilion 550-150. I get the "display driver stopped responding and has recovered" message much too frequently. It happens during unsophisticated use, just doing basic web browsing using Microsoft Edge browser. Not only do I get these messages, but it seems that it will trigger my computer to lock up some of they key functions (e.g., Cortana, Edge, start menu), thereby forcing me to log off and log back in to resolve the problem. needless to say, this experience is painful and unacceptable for a new computer. The only suggestion that HP provided was creating a "TdrDelay" of "8" in my driver registry. This only helped somewhat and quite frankly is a band-aid solution that shouldn't be used anyway. Any suggestions before I return the computer???
