Driver for Intel Hd 3000 shows older version after an update

I'm trying to update my Intel HD Grapics driver from 8.830.6.1000 to 15.28.20.64.3347. I found the drivers from this site and tried to download and install them and had no issues, but for some reason after i restart it still shows the older version listed in the device manager. Ive tried installing it 3 times now and the result has been the same. the Comp is a hp Pavilion Dv7 laptop. Intel Core i7-2630QM Processor with Radeon 6770m graphics card

Is there some sort of cleaning that has to be done or uninstalling of the older driver? I'm sorry if this is a really basic question, im not very good at things like these and worry ill ruin the laptop if screw something due to inexperience.

Hi Rucion,

You may try to force the installation of Intel generic drivers by performing manual procedure, see here for instructions:

http://support.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-022355.htm http://support.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-022355.htm

Download the zip version of the video driver:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=23377&lang=eng&OSVersion=Windows%207%20(64-bit)*&DownloadType=%0A%09%09%09%09%09%09%09Drivers%0A%09%09%09%09%09%09

If you still have same problem after installing the driver manually, your computer requires customized drivers from your computer manufacturer.
