External hdmi display keeps turning off and on

Hi,

My external monitor connected through HDMI keeps turning off and on. I have noticed this behavior in InteI UHD 630 on both Windows 10 and Ubuntu 20.04 (dual boot PC). Also like to add that in-built display works fine without any flickering. However there is no issue if I connect the external display to a Intel HD 5500 (another PC).

Anyone faced this problem?

This is typically caused by a bad HDMI cable. Try a better quality one.

Thank you for replying.

I have tried changing the HDMI cable, but it didn't help me. I am using  a High speed cable with Ethernet, so it should support 1080p@60Hz. Also when using this monitor and cable with a Intel HD 5500 supported PC I couldn't find any screen blacking out issue even when running in 1080p@6Hz resolution.

What version of the driver are you running? Version 27.20.100.8336 is available for download here: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/29674/Intel-Graphics-Windows-10-DCH-Drivers. Give it a try.
