GMA 3150 and native resolution driver fix

Hi

I bought netbook with with GMA 3150 onboard and can't get native resolution 1600x1200 of my old (but still fine) IPS Philips 20 inch LCD. On my other netbook with GMA 950 everything is working fine, I can set 1600x1200, also on my LG LCD-TV all is fine: 1920x1080 is working. I've tried downloading drivers with EDID "fix" but there is no driver for GMA 3150, only for 4 series and HD series chipsets.

Where can I download driver/how can I fix it?

I have exactly the same problem on my Toshiba NB305 with an old Dell 2007FP. Cant display native 1600x1200.

However i have gotten 1600x900 with Windows 7. This still doesnt cut it obviously with the vertical res.

There is also an overclocking tool called GMA booster but it is not yet available for the GMA 3100 series http://www.gmabooster.com/download.htm http://www.gmabooster.com/download.htm

So it looks like you will need to buy a new monitor that supports the native res. Did anyone say Netbooks suck? Tim Cook was right

I think that data on notebookcheck is wrong, cos I can easly set 1680x1050 and 1920x1080 on my LG LCD-TV, so resolution is not limited or only high res with 4:3 aspect. The problem most probably lies within intel drivers, but intel answered me that drivers are not limiting res. I will try mod my vga cable to disable edid and then try, but first have to get really cheap cable to try

starting Xorg with screen on HDMI port yields something we don't understand:

wtfl? 1280x720 is highest resolution on HDMI??? VGA does 1920x1080 fine. I don't understand... is this a hardware limitation or can this be fixed somehow in the driver or wherever?
