Hi MWood9,

I think I have a solution for your problem. I have been trying to update the graphics card for over five weeks. I hope that it will work for you.

If you have Windows 10. Here are some instructions.

Right click Start button. Click on System.

Click on Advanced system settings. When a dialog box appears on the screen.

There are two options for you to choose here.

Yes (Recommended) & No (Your device may not work as expected.)

Click on No.

Then, if you have administrator privileges on your device, click Continue.

All you have to do next is install the graphics card again on your device.

If you are installing it as a zip file. Follow these instructions.

Download the ZIP version of driver package.

Extract the zip file somewhere easy to find, e.g your "Desktop".

Go to Device Manager

In "Display Adapters" find "Intel(R) HD Graphics"

Right click on it and go to "Properties"

Now new window should appear.

Click "Driver" tab

Then click "Update Driver..." button.

A new window will appear.

Now click on "Browse my computer for driver software"

It's will show you next page.

WARNING: DO NOT click on "Browse" here! Ignore this form!

Click on "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"

In this window click on "Have Disk..." button.

A window pop's up to find the driver

Navigate to the extracted driver folder

Go to the "Graphics" sub-folder

Click on the igdlh64.inf (or igdlh32.inf if you have 32-bit OS)

It's should gone back to last window with only one driver to choose from

WARNING: Name of INF file might be different!

Select that only driver and click "Next.."

Done

If system offer to restart your PC I recommend to do that.

After you do that latest driver should be installed and working on your computer.

And hopefully it should work. Let us know if you have any problems.

Hi Ronald, hope you can help. In the latest 1809 64 bit Win10 update, device manager stops this driver from starting and causes the machine to fail back to the Microsoft basic driver. This was not an issue on 1803.

Device Manager reports this is a known error (code 48)

I know this is an old chipset, but you've been updating the driver (thanks!) . Is someone able to provide any update on whether this driver will get an update to address this issue?

Hi AW8. I have the same problem as you with a code 48 for my Bay Trail graphics driver. I do see that Ronald has put up a link for the driver update. That is great & all but I don't know if I am allowed to download & install that one first because there is a customized driver on my Toshiba Satellite laptop. It is known as a Toshiba Satellite C50-B-137. I have tried on numerous occasions up to now in trying to find an driver update for it. No luck has been found so far in getting one so far from Toshiba's support website. I cannot rollback to 1803 as I already passed the 10 day rollback window for 1803. Can you offer me some advice please. Thanks in advance.

Hi Ronald, similar issue as the others, I have an Asus Transformer tablet T100TA with the Baytrail chipset (Atom Z3740, x64 Family Model 55 Stepping 3) and I've loaded driver package 15.33.47.5059 for Win32, but I get the error that the "Driver failed to start" so it loads the basic Windows driver instead of the Intel driver. Error is "Code 43." The actual driver listed according to Intel Driver & Support Assistant is 10.18.10.5059.

Of course this means the graphics capability is greatly reduced. I've tried loading older drivers, but nothing seems to work. Can we expect another driver update from Intel for this older platform?

Be very sad to see a good working piece of hardware go to waste because the software interface to the hardware couldn't be worked out. Thanks!
