HD 3000 and multiple game problems

So there is a problem that I have noticed that occurs in many games that I try to play. The all relate to not being able to see; the mouse and changes on the screen i.e choosing campaign and hearing the sounds that it switches a page but not being able to see the change.

I have noticed that the only way around this problem is to go to windows and return back to the game. It is really quiet frustrating to pick options blindly and go to the desktop every five seconds only to realize you picked the wrong option. These games aren't graphically demanding (Delta Force: Land Warrior and C&C Tiberium Sun for example) and I run better games without problems.

If newer games are working properly on this platform, the issue could be a compatibility problem from the games that may not be optimized to run over this new hardware and driver model.
