HD 530 'Blinks' repeatedly with XMP Profile active

Just installed the latest Graphics driver (....6136) for my HD 530 system (Gigabyte Z170X UD5 Board), 2 monitors 32GB Corsair Vengeance Ram 3200

When the XMP profile is activated the screen repeatedly turns off for a few seconds then the image returns for a few minutes then the cycle starts again. This did not happen with the previous drivers.

If I turn off the XMP profile the system is stable.

Any ideas?

Ian

Hello MrQNet,

Thank you for joining this Community.

I understand that you are experiencing system instability issues with your Intel® XMP profile being active after the latest Intel® HD Graphics 530 update.

In this case, please uninstall the latest Intel® Graphics Driver for Windows® 10, and rollback to the previous version, so we can determine if there is any behavior change between these two versions.

Here is the direct link to the previous drivers:

Once that you rollback your drivers, please provide me with the .txt file that the System Support Utility will generate. To attach a file, you must click the "Attach" option on the bottom right-hand corner of the response box.

As, well let me ask, before updating the driver, did you experience any other issue similar to this one? Was there an specific reason to update the drivers?

I hope this helps, please monitor the results and let us know the outcome.

Regards,

Diego S.

Hi,

The problem still appears, but again it does not occur if I turn off the XMP memory profile.

I was not experiencing any other issues until I upgraded the driver.

I was using xxxx.4973 as the previous version

I have attached the SSU report

Hello MrQNet

Thank you for your response.

Apparently your OEM removed the actual driver from their page; however they posted a newer version of it dated on 2018/07/03

In order to isolate the error message we will need you to uninstall the current graphic drivers that your system has, until the basic Microsoft*display driver is exposed (please make sure that you will do it with no internet access)

After that, for troubleshooting purposes please install the latest Intel ® VGA Driver (OEM version: 100.6169) found here:

https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-Z170X-UD5-rev-10# support-dl-driver-vga https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-Z170X-UD5-rev-10# support-dl-driver-vga

In order to do it please go ahead and perform this update steps:

Unzip the file to a designated location or folder.

Open Device Manager:

For Windows 10: Right-click Windows Start icon

Click yes when prompted for permission from User Account Control.

Expand the Display adapters section.

Right-click the Intel® graphics entry and select Update Driver Software.

Click Browse my computer for driver software.

Click Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.

Click Have Disk.

Click Browse and select the directory where the driver files are located.

Click OK, and finally click Next.

Drivers are now being installed.

Restart your computer.

I hope this helps, please let us know the outcome.

Regards,

Diego S.

Hi,

Installed the new driver but the problem still persists, so I am back to a disabled XMP profile . It seems to only happen on the monitor using the HDMI connection, thats the main monitor.

Hello MrQNet,

Thank you for your response.

In this case since the driver that you are using is the most recent optimized drivers for your machine (even newer than our generic drivers) we suggest you to contact their support so they can try to replicate the issue in their system.

Since they optimize our generic drivers, a possibility is that part of the optimization on their latest release may have issues between with XMP profiles and the drivers of your motherboard.

This is the link for their support:

I hope this helps.
