HD graphics 520 displayport

My company have just replaced my laptop to a HP Elitebook 850 G3 on winsodws10 enterprise with HD graphics 520 and driver v20.19.15.4483. I could connect my desktop monitor via a VGA to DP adaptor into the DP port of old laptop and worked fine however this new machine will not recognise the monitor. Advise please. I have attempted to upgrade drivers but cannot take Intel direct as says not compatible possibly due to manufactures adjustments?? If anyone needs further specs or info please yell as this is my first post here and hoping someone can assist.

Thank you for joining the Graphics Community.

Have you tried using straight connections(DP to DP)? The scenario you are experiencing is considered expected since Intel recommends using straight to ensure the communication between the components.
