How to convert Intel Graphics Command Center display color values to Intel Graphics Software?

I have both apps. Although they are exactly the same, Intel is supporting the newer one (IGS), and I want to move my settings from the old app to there.

The issue arrives in the calibrating part. For some reason copy-pasting my color settings from IGCC to IGS just makes my screen a whole lot darker than usual. What is the formula for converting the values between the two apps? Also when I open IGS, its calibration applies no matter what. While when I open IGCC, I have to tweak a value for its entire settings to apply.

Thanks!

Hi,

Here are my details:

  • No, I'm not using the beta version of IGCC.
  • Both of the apps are up to date.
  • I've uploaded my screenshots as well as my SSU logs. The screenshots 113, 114, 115 are for a preset; while 141, 142, 143 are for another one.

Hopefully this helps :).

Hi iq_1,

We would like to request for the logs from the following locations:

  • For IGCC: Navigate to C:\Users<your_username_here>\AppData\Local\Intel\GCC
  • For IGS: Please create or update the Registry Key at:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Intel\IntelGraphicsSoftware

Set LogLevel to Trace

To retrieve the logs, access Windows' Event Viewer and look under Application -> Intel Graphics Software.

Thank you and have a great day ahead!

Hi,

Attached below are the logs. For IGCC I couldn't upload more than 10 files, so the rest of them will be in my other message replying to this.

Hi iq_1,

The IGS software automatically follow or adapt the settings configured in IGCC. This means that you no longer need to manually set the value from IGCC to IGS. If you have any further concerns or questions, please feel free to let us know.

Hi,

If the IGS software automatically follow or adapt the settings configured in IGCC, does that mean they are in sync to each other? If so, that's not the case for me, because all the values in IGS were default.

Hi iq_1,

Thank you for the update. To clarify, when you set the values in IGCC, those values become the default settings in IGS. However, the numbers in IGS won't match exactly what you see in IGCC. It's similar to having the same colors represented by different values. This is why adjusting the settings in IGS results in a different color display.

Hi,

Thank you for clarifying that. However, in my experience the IGS values won't change whatsoever accordingly to match with IGCC, rather it stays whatever value it has, which in my case 50 - the default value. For example, if I set the saturation value in IGCC to 100, in IGS it will still remain 50, and vice versa, nothing changes in IGCC if I change something in the other app. That means changing color settings in IGS will be more complicated, as I have to take the settings in IGCC into account, too.

To fix this, I would have to reset all values in IGCC back to default before changing anything in IGS, but the values between them aren't interchangeable, so I would like to know how to convert the values from IGCC to IGS. While it's true that I could just stick with IGCC due to IGS adapting to it, I want to move on from the legacy app, because Intel stopped supporting it.

Hi iq_1,

Thank you for updating us on the conversion of color values between IGCC and IGS. We've tested this on our end and observed that when you set a value in IGCC, it becomes the default in IGS. For example, setting a value of 30 in IGCC might correspond to a value of 50 in IGS, resulting in the same color but represented by different numbers. As previously mentioned, you don't need to manually adjust settings in IGS, as it acts as an extension of IGCC when settings are maximized. This explains why reducing settings in IGS leads to a darker color, as it also impacts/follow the IGCC settings.

If you have any questions, please let me know. Thank you.

Hi,

I wish my IGS would do that, but it doesn't currently. My IGCC settings vary differently, but in IGS it only stays 50. If I change something in IGCC, IGS doesn't adapt. How do I deal with this?
