In another forum, it said that 3rd generation isn't supported anymore (/thread/100347 https://communities.intel.com/thread/100347)so I was supposed to install 10.0.27 - and windows still freezes. Which hardware should I replace to make the latest version possible to install? Or could it be completely a different reason why my PC freezes. It's for windows 10.

Hello BhupinderTube ,
I would like to have your system configuration (specs and drivers installed) which can be gathered up with the Intel SSU.
This tool will easily do this for you, then you can simply attach the report to your answer.
How can you get this report done?
-Access: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility
-Download the utility
-Scan your system with the utility
-Export the report (hit next and then save) and attach it to your answer with the advanced editor option (reply button and then check upper right corner)
Additionally, are you having the same issue noted in the thread mentioned? Would you please elaborate a little bit more on what the actual behavior of your system is?
Hope I can hear from you
I apologize for the delayed answer!
Regards,
Esteban C
Sorry for the delay.
I have attached the results. The problem that I have is that the pc freezes. I'll have to shut it down by holding the power button and the start it again.
Hello BhupinderTube,
Thank you for the information provided!
From our side, there are no drivers available for Windows 10* with the chipset you have (Intel(R) 5000 Series).
One of the things you can try would be to install all Windows 10* updates and see how the system behaves.
Another option would be to try to install the drivers from your OEM in compatibility mode: http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/product-support/product/precision-490-dt/configuration http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/product-support/product/precision-490-dt/configuration

Thanks, Esteban,
I still didn't get time to look into it. Recently, windows had another update and then onwards the freezing of the PC has come down. Plus, I followed this [ https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-performance/event-log-writes-error-related-to-application/e64806c2-510c-44c6-b22e-257d07d47200?page=6&msgId=34c8b824-df67-455c-bf3e-3f91c5b74640 https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-performance/event-log-writes-error-related-to-application/e64806c2-510c-44c6-b22e-257d07d47200?page=6&msgId=34c8b824-df67-455c-bf3e-3f91c5b74640 ] and it help with the freeze. There are more services I think that I need to follow the same procedure to get rid of this strange freezing issue.
