How to use display scaling? Arc A750

Problem encountered on Intel ARC 750 with driver 31.0.101.4644.

I cannot change the output resolution on my Intel Arc A750 using Windows 11. On a 4K display, the A750 outputs a fixed resolution of 3840x2160 as the "active display mode". Meaning that while I can choose another resolution in Windows settings, such as 1080p, the A750 will still scale that 1080p image to the entire 3840x2160. I do not want this.

My display has very good builtin scaling, which I want to make use of.

"Intel Graphics Command" seems to have a setting which should allow me to do this, called "Maintain Display Scaling". However, whenever I select that option, it immediately switches back to whatever the setting was previously. All the while, the "active display mode" is still 3840x2160...

So how can I force the output resolution such that it is actually 1080p?

Thank you for posting on the Intel️® communities. We would be more than glad to help you.

We understand that you are trying to set another resolution, but the system will constantly scale the image to fit entirely into the display. Some graphics options have been removed from the Intel graphics command center. However, we recommend trying to use the Intel® Graphics Command Center (Beta) since some features may still be available. Re-test, and let us know the outcome.

I would like to confirm that using Intel Graphics Command Center (Beta) does indeed provide the solution. Selecting "Maintain display scaling" works, by which I mean the setting is saved and kept. Then, if you select your desired resolution through Intel Graphics Command Center (Beta), both internal resolution as the output resolution are set at your setting. In my case, setting the resolution to 1920x1080 in Intel Graphics Command Center (Beta) gave me an output resolution of 1920x1080.

My issue is solved.
