I think I solve the problem that Intel HD graphics can't output HDMI or DVI signal

My new computer

CPU i5 2500 k

MB Gigabyte GA-Z68A-D3H-B3

Monitor ASUS MS246H

OS Windows 7 x64

Days before, I also have the same problem that so many guys have.

I can't get the output from 2500K via the HDMI port and DVI port after install the driver,

It's fine while using the DVI or HDMI port. But when I install the driver and reboot, there is no display after the screen "Windows Starting".I go into the safe mode uninstall the driver to using the system driver, everything just go fine after reboot. And when I using the VGA port from the MB,there is no problem after install driver.I try many kinds of drivers, the HDMI and DVI port also have no display.

Now I solve the problem using the method as below:

1.prepare a vga-vga line, and connect it from MB vga port to monitor vga port

2.connect a hdmi or dvi line from mb to monitor

3.select the monitor output mode to VGA

4.power on the PC and login the system (Now it's using the vga,so there is no problem)

5.install or reinstall the driver and DO NOT restart after the job is over.

6.press WIN+P and select the duplicate mode (the second one) and press enter to confirm.

7.right click on your desktop and select "screen resolution" ,that you will see your monitor is seperated into two parts (1|2)

8.then change your monitor output mode to HDMI or DVI,Is it working now?

9.remove the vga line, and the output form hdmi or dvi is good

10.reboot the PC and everything is OK

Hope this method is useful to you, thanks.

I SOLVED this problem.

I had the same problem long time. i have vga and hdmi output on my pc but only one was recognized. i installed several drivers,

including the special drivers mentioned in this tread to solve the 'hdmi not recognized' problem. Noting helped. So.. what helped?

Solution: 1) Completely uninstall the current Intel driver from 'device manager'

2) restart. Windows finds new device and updates it with latest intel driver! ( you could also do this manualy of course)

Problem solved: Now, for the first time Both , my vga and hdmi are recognized in the intel graphics properties! and they are bothe recognized when i plug a cable in either vga

or hdmi and i can select multiple monitors in intel grahics properties.

So always deinstall to default vga before installing driver.

cheers, Tom

I have the same problem with dual Monitor configuration.

I'm using the Gigabyte Board Q77M-D2H with the 3rd Generation i3 (3220) and the latest HD Driver (9.18.10.3165) running Win 7 x64.

When disabling and enabling the Display Adapter the second display is recognized. After reboot it is again not detected.

On my system the display which is connected via HDMI (HDMI to DVI cable) is the primary device and always active and the second display which is direcly connected via DVI is not detected after reboot.

Is this a problem of the driver or chipset, as this occurs on different HW platforms? Will there be a fix available?

I tried this method, but it does not solve the issue.

Problem reappears on next reboot.

Hi delorg,

I have tried to replicate this issue from our side but the configuration I used was working for me. Can you please post your dxdiag report here along with your graphics report?

Hi Kevin,

I'm not an IT specialist. Could you please provide me with precise instructions on how to get the dxdiag and the graphics report?

I will forward these to you then a.s.a.p.

Please note that I fully documented the issue on

Hi Kevin,

the reports that I just posted were taken after I did the disable/enable device, so as to be able to use the DVI output.

Best regards

Hi delorg,

If you are having the issue from the link you mentioned before, the best thing is to report it since it is under investigation and any fix will be published on that thread.

In the meantime, you can download the generic driver we have for your controller at the following link:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=23106&lang=eng&OSVersion=Windows%207%20(64-bit)*&DownloadType=Drivers https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=23106&lang=eng&OSVersion=Windows%207%20(64-bit)*&DownloadType=Drivers

It is also important to say that the driver we have is a generic driver and the computer manufacturer should have a different driver designed specifically for your computer.

Hello,

I already updated the driver with your recommended link, but it did not resolve the problem.

Hi delorg,

At this point since the driver has been installed and issue persists, I recommend you contacting HP directly for them to provide a special driver for your computer or do the corresponding warranty process if necessary.

Hi,

Yest two days ago, same driver issue happens to with new ASUS Z87 PRO mainboard and new CPU i5 4570 (1150).

I connected PC with DVI-D (single link) to not that old monitor SAMSUNG XL2270HD.

With clean install both Windows 7 x64 (professional and enterprise) generic windows driver work perfect with dvi connection.

After installing MEI and chipset drivers, restart in both cases, start installing graphical Intel HD 4600 driver

_ v9.18.10.3186

Connection was still on DVI-D (single link). After restart, only thing that I was able to see is Windows post boot screen. Picture was gone when entering Windows.

Connect VGA cable, and have what to see, Windows log on.

I have try all driver version there is, 10.18.10.3262, 10.18.10.3304,9.18.10.3234, but nothing works for me.

Now I install latest version 15.33.8.64.3345 (10.18.10.3345), but issue is still present.

Interesting to observe is that I have tried DVI-D (dual link), still no progress.

Also, when you apply new driver (any version) and go to restart, picture automatically switch to VGA (like it is default), and there is no DVI or Display port available for monitor or for extend or duplicate monitors.

BUT

When you override installation of graphical driver (same version to previous installation before restart) connectors DVI and DP start working (no restart), and you can switch to those. (Same workaround as disable or enable in device manager)

The soon as you go for restart, DVI, DP, and HDMI are goes dead.

I hope Intel can from this came up with solution for solving driver problem.

Best regard to you all

Sorry for bad English.

p.s. I will send dxdiag, as soon as I will get home.

Cheers

Hi Gosa,

Sorry to hear you are having problems with the unit. Are you trying a direct connection or using adapters? Also the dxdiag will be helpful.

Hello Kevin,

I'm working trough direct connection, there is no adapters.

Concerning dxdiag, I'm already posted on new case. Link bellow.

I'm experiencing the same problem with HDMI, audio and video on my Philips TV (DVI works), already tried every driver and workaround described but it doesn't work... I got it to work once after disabling and enabling it in Device Manager but afterwards never again. It's really frustrating not getting it to work.

Any more suggestions???

It's a new PC running Windows 7 x64

Thanks in advance!

On more thing, it's now working when I connect my monitor via HDMI, but when I connect the PC to the TV it's not getting any signal. Connecting the laptop with the same HDMI cable works just fine. Any ideas?

I recommend you checking the HDMI cable to avoid hardware problems. Besides that, I recommend you checking for a graphics driver update.

Here you can get the driver update:
