IGCC Combine monitors not working if a monitor orientation is Flipped

Hello

I am trying to combine my two monitors (in portrait mode) into one.

With my hardware I have to use flipped orientation for the left monitor, because the viewing angle matters for this monitor.

When I combine monitors in the Graphics Command Center,, the command appears to work but the resulting orientation of my monitor is wrong. The image is no longer flipped.

That is, the Combine Monitors command ignores the flipped orientation and there is no way and no alternative to explicitly specify this orientation when using Combine Monitors command from the menu.

Can this be fixed please ? Is there a way to combine monitors with flipped orientation ?

The order for my monitors was placed August 30 , 2024, at an online store in my country.

I never had a Flipped orientation for my monitors before, so this is the firs time.

I tried the Combine Monitors command with both vertical and horizontal options, hoping I can rotate the combined screen afterwards from Windows Settings. But there is nothing I can do if the monitor is no longer Flipped after the Combine command.

Refresh rate is 144 Hz on both monitors

I set my monitors to 60Hz and to Landscape orientation, as instructed in the link you provided.

 

But IGCC still has the same problem:

After I combine the monitors, my flipped monitor is no longer flipped, and the image now appears up-side-down:

(I can see the monitors appear to be back in portrait mode, but I did not make the setting (I kept them in landscape mode). IGCC shows them like this after Combine....)

Thank you for the update.

Upon checking the SSU logs that you posted, your Graphics driver is not updated.

Here is the latest driver for your Graphics controller. Try to install it and check if updating the driver will work.

I have installed the new driver and attached new SSU and IGCC reports.

Again I put both monitors in Landscape mode and 60Hz, but the behavior is still the same. The problem is still there:

My flipped monitor shows up up-side-down (no longer flipped) after I use IGCC to combine monitors

Upon further checking the details that you provided, I noticed that the monitor is in reversed (right side) that's why the output is in the wrong place.

And also, let me remind you that Combined mode is possible only with refresh rates up to 60 Hz and in landscape mode only.

Of course I know the monitor is reversed. But I am supposed to keep it that way.

The LCD panel must be viewed from the appropriate angle. If I rotate it the other way, all the colors get distorted, making the monitor unusable.

So can you help me with the flipped orientation please ?

Yes, I used landscape mode and 60 Hz, here are some new screenshots, but after Combine Monitors in IGCC the image still looks bad.

   

The image looks right befre I use Combine Monitors in IGCC, if I configure the reverse monitor in Landscape (Flipped )orientation in Windows.

But right after Combine Monitors, my reverse monitor is suddenly up-side-down, though it was upright before

I can see the monitors appear to be back in Portrait mode in the photo, but I always  kept the Orientation settings to Landscape and Landscape (Flipped), as can be seen in the screenshots. But IGCC will show the monitors back in portrait mode after I use the Combine Monitors options

Base of the website that I provided before, Combined is not available for displays in portrait orientation.

I've successfully simulated the issue and found that the flipped function is still available in IGCC BETA. It was removed in the IGCC (main stream)

Please try to follow the steps below:

1. Download the Intel® Graphics Command Center (Beta)
2. Open the newly installed Intel Graphics Command Center (Beta).
3. Go to Display.
4. Select the monitor with the flipped display.
5. Go to Rotation and adjust the screen rotation.

I installed IGCC Beta and I set the monitor Rotation to "Landscape (Flipped)" like in the image.

But the behavior is still the same. When I combine monitors, my flipped monitor appears up-side-down, just like before.

Can you try to uninstall the IGCC and the IGCC(Beta) and the drivers using DDU. Then install the IGCC(Beta) and driver and try it again using 60hz settings:

Sorry but I think using DDU to install such an old version of IGCC (that is still wrongly called Beta) is not going to help me.

The latest IGCC also shows my monitor as Flipped, so it knows, the issue is it just doesn't matter once I click Combine Monitors...

I recently received a new driver update from Intel DSA (for new version 6310 I belive), but the new driver still does not fix my issue.

I was hoping you can eventually send this issue to the engineering team, that can actually implement the feature that is so obviously missing.

Now I will just have to swapp my grafix card with an AMD one; a quick search seams to show they can do Flipped orientation.

But I was so enthusiastic about my new Intel GPU ... 😞 😞 😞
