Intel ARC A50 Pro Performance Settings?

Hi Intel and Intel Forum Users,

I have a Intel Arc A50 Pro installed in one of my servers, this server is running Windows 10 Pro (yes I know, it's not a server OS, but this server handles multiple tasks and some of those tasks cannot be done on anything other than Win10 or 11).

The CPU in this server is a i7 11700T on a MSI B560M Pro-VDH.

Resizable bar is enabled.

The A50 is installed on the 16x PCIe 4.0 slot.

The main use for this GPU is video encoding and re-encoding. I chose the A50 as the dimensions are millimetre perfect for the server chassis it's in, the blower fan assisting in thermals, and I preferred the Intel QS video encoding results compared to AMD and NV.

My question is, even after installing all the applications I can find to control the settings of this GPU, I do not have anything other than Metrics under the Performance option in Intel Pro Graphics Software. The card appears to be stuck with a 49W limit out of the 75W advertised and peaks at 35W when encoding. It's idle temp is around 50C and peaks at 62C under 100% load. This is when the CPU is sat at 23C (decent 3U Noctua cooler on the 11700T) and internal case temps around 15-20C.

Should I be able to control the max TDP to 75W and be able to lower the idle power consumption to prevent it idling at 50C?

This card was purchased new from a respected large UK retailer, it was supplied in OEM packaging as I understand it is meant to be purchased as part of a pre-built system rather than on it's own for DIY builds which means I do not have system builder specific settings and limitations on drivers, I can install whatever the latest driver Intel supply without worries about system builder settings issues.

Can anyone with one of these A40/50/60 cards assist here or Intel reps themselves please?

...the Intel® Arc™ Pro A-series cards, including the A50, are designed primarily for workstation and professional environments, and as such, certain performance tuning features such as TDP adjustment or GPU overclocking are either limited or not exposed through Intel® Graphics Command Center or Intel® Arc Control for these models. This is especially true in OEM or enterprise SKUs where stability and thermal envelope adherence are prioritized over customizable performance tuning. The 49W ceiling you're observing is expected behavior for the A50 Pro, which dynamically manages its power draw to remain within design specifications. While the card is rated for up to 75W, actual power consumption during video encoding workloads often remains well below that, depending on codec, resolution, and system-level power policies. ...but the 50°C idle temp is relatively typical for a blower-style GPU, particularly in compact or airflow-constrained enclosures. Given your reported chassis thermals, it does not suggest thermal throttling or concern, but unfortunately, fan curve adjustments are not currently user-configurable on the A50 Pro through Intel's standard software stack.+

You’re correct that the A50 is an OEM-partitioned product, and while it supports generic Intel drivers, full performance controls and tuning features are generally reserved for the consumer Arc A-series (e.g., A750, A770). Ensure you're on the latest Intel Arc Pro driver version available on Intel’s Download Center.

...hope it helps...
