Intel Arc Control requests permission to start every time I boot up

Installed a new Graphics driver and Intel Arc Control came along with it.  Don't mind that, but every time I boot up or restart, Intel Arc Control asks permission to "make changes to your computer."  Should this be happening?

NoroiRonin's solution seems to work well.  Created the Task, rebooted, and Task Manager says Intel Arc Control is running.

You have to remember to go to Settings > Apps > Startup and turn OFF the Intel Arc Control startup switch or you'll keep getting the popup.

Kudos and thanks for finding a good solution.

Agreed Dale. I have this same issue at where I work where ARC Control constantly bugs you for admin privs...just to launch.Problem is, our staff do NOT have admin privs on their machine and call the support desk all the time asking when we're going to fix it...so we've been forced to uninstall it across the board. That cost us a lot of time.

Intel - please fix.

I cannot believe that this is still an issue. FML. INTEL FIX THIS! I can't roll out new drivers to our organization because every time ARC starts up on client PC's, it asks for admin privs.

INTEL. DO. YOUR. JOB. FIX.

February 1st 2023, and INTEL STILL HASN'T FIXED THIS ISSUE, amazing people aren't freaking out about it more, this is completely unnecessary clutter, meant to telegraph to users "look we're INTEL and we're doing interesting and NECESSARY things in graphics tech too"

1/06/23 - Still popping up every boot up.  Waiting on 4090 and using  Intel IGP and its very annoying.  I just took it out of startup for now.  This should be one of the most simple things to fix.

I found a solution in a recent video from LTT. You have to follow the steps described in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4GASGO0go5I&list=PLHLnG8ELE6C0dmlKl28MGkNSbnqzADVVC&index=31 from 2:14. The name of the file you have to add is ArcControlLauncher.exe which for me was located under C:\Program Files\Intel\Intel Arc Control

This "works" if you disable the Arc Control in Startup Apps, but it also starts the Arc Control through the Task Scheduler OPEN, so, it might save two clicks, but it's still OPEN on the desktop.  Anyone find a solution where Task Schedules starts the ARC control with admin privileges in the backround, and not spawns the app open on the Desktop?

I found a solution.

Add a /s parameter when creating schedule task. Intel Arc Control will start in background.

I turned this off from day one.

Settings > Apps > Startup     Intel(R) Arc(TM) Control   Off.   🤣

This is a good solution if you need to run Arc Control. The description below comes from Intel about what Arc Control is. Business class and light users really don't need it and the disable of running the software at startup will be all they need. For keeping Intel drivers up to date, I recommend using the Intel Driver & Support Assistant.

Intel® Arc™ Control is the only all-in-one software that easily/automatically updates drivers, adjusts game/system performance, and enables users to stream/broadcast gameplay.

The 'sad' thing is, since 10-31-22, Intel has not bothered to pay attention to this thread, so NO replies will be coming from them in here.  Even worse, Intel probably has no clue about the "solution" you mention.  Considering that, during the first two weeks of this thread, Intel was paying considerable attention to the thread...and, then, only two weeks after it was created, they told everyone that no further replies would be coming from them on this matter, I strongly suspect they "just don't care", and might not even be working on a solution (despite what they originally claimed).  At this point, I'd say "it is what it is", so we have three options:

1)  Leave it installed, and 'deal' with the "pop-up" that appears every time you start your computer.

2)  Following the directions Linus gave in his video, and 'deal' with the Arc Control app opening.

3)  Uninstall the Arc Control app, and not have to 'deal' with either of the two above "problems".

On the 'plus' side, Intel does appear to be updating the graphics drivers on an almost-monthly basis...so, for those who opted to go with option #3 (uninstalling Arc Control), for each time in the future that Intel has a graphics driver update, when you get to the screen with the pre-checked box for installing Arc Control, simply uncheck the box, and Arc Control will not be installed.  As they say, "There's more than one way to kill a horse."...the 'horse', in this case, being Arc Control.

I agree, and that is how Arc Control is working at the moment.

Meanwhile, I've just removed it and am using the Intel Graphics Command Center app instead that my A770's IGPs use, which seems to have all the basic options without any extra frills.

A simple solution for Windows users is to go to Settings-->App-->Startup and turn off auto startup for Intel Arc Control. You can still run Arc Control if needed, it just doesn't run on startup, preventing the permissions popup on every restart. This setting has persisted through Windows and Intel upgrades/updates for me.
