Intel Arc artifact in Metro Exodus:enhanced safe mode

Hi, 

 

I am here to report an artifact regarding the artifact when rendering the water surfaces in Metro: Exodus enhanced edition. THe screenshot is attached. The reason to enable safe mode is that the game will randomly crash in normal mode.(another thread covers this)

Thank you for your post on the Intel Communities.


To further investigate this issue we will need part of the information we asked for in your other thread related to crashes which is the game distribution service and the in-game graphics settings in addition please also let us know if the issue can be reproduced in any water surface area in the game or if it is specific to a certain area on the map.

The image attached in the original thread is at the VOLGA level. However, I do notice there are artifacts in other water surfaces as well like in the desert level.

Hello Bill_da_da,


Thank you for your patience. We would like to let you know that we have been testing the game with our latest graphics driver, 31.0.101.5186, and so far, we have been unable to encounter the issue. Refer to the following video of our testing.


Let us know your results after installing the latest graphics driver. Remember that it is always recommended to run the Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) software to eliminate all the previous drivers and leftovers and freshly install the newest drivers.

Hi Jean,

 

I already finished playing Metro and never used safe mode again. I am wondering if the problem is system-specific. I also find that other nvidia card users do crash as well so that they will have to use safe mode. But I already uninstalled the game, I will not be able to retest it on my computer now.
