I have a problem. I have a Lenovo notebook with Intel Celeron N2840 processor. It works fine for simple tasks. I want to connect it to Dell monitor. Dell monitor has QHD (2560x1440) resolution. The main problem that I can't run custom resolution app on Windows 10.
I installed the latest driver via Intel Driver Update Utility. This driver doesn't have Custom Resolution option in Intel Control Panel. It has CustomModeApp in Windows System32 folder, but I can't run this app on Windows 10 (do nothing).
How can I setup custom resolution on this notebook? Intel Control Panel has Custom Resolutions tab in new driver versions, but I can't install them on this processor/video chip.

I recommend you to test first with the latest driver provide by your manufacturer, if you still cannot find the graphics panel, could be because we sell our Intel chipsets and processors to third party manufacturers, like Lenovo*, they design their own computers with their own features, settings and capabilities. For that reason they design their own drivers, to meet the exact specifications on their computers.
You could try uninstalling current driver version installed, use this method;
- Open the Device Manager.
- Find the Intel Graphics Driver.
- Right click Intel Graphics Driver and select Uninstall.
- Select the check box
- Delete the driver software for this device.
- Reboot the computer after uninstall process has finished.
Then try with Lenovo's* latest driver:

Hi Hellen,
I tried all drivers which I found.
I have a 64 bit Windows 10. Seems as Intel hasn't updated a driver for 64 bit Windows version.
Old drivers have a problem with CustomModeApp (it can't work on windows 8.1 and 10). New drivers have Custom Resolution option inside Intel Control Panel, but I can't find any new driver for my processor and 64 bit Windows

First of all - thanks for your time!
This is the latest driver for 64bit Windows 10. But its version is 15.33.43.4425.
For 32bit version latest is 15.40.1.4256
From googling, I found that versions before 15.35 have problems with CustomModeApp on Window 10. And only in 15.35 Intel added a Custom Resolution option inside Intel Control Panel.

Since you have an OEM keep in mind that not all computers manufacturers have the Custom Modes/Resolution feature enabled in the Intel graphics driver. Older Intel generic graphics drivers do not enable this feature.

Thanks Yehor, Older Intel generic graphics drivers do not enable this feature. NeoReaper third party manufacturers, like Lenovo*, Dell*, Panasonic* or HP*, they design their own computers with their own features, settings and capabilities they design their own drivers.
3rd Generation Intel® Core™ Processors with Intel® HD Graphics 4000, Ivy Bridge, supports Windows® 10 but with this warning:
6 - Windows 10 drivers for 3rd Generation Intel® Core™ Processors with Intel® HD Graphics 4000 and 3rd Generation Intel® Core™ Processors with Intel® HD Graphics 2500 (formerly codenamed Ivy Bridge) will include support for Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM) 1.3. For reference, WDDM 1.2 features are available on Microsoft's website. This Windows 10 driver won't be digitally signed, which means that it hasn' been tested by Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL). Note that Windows will alert you with a message if a driver is not digitally signed, but you can continue the installation.

Since it is e OEM product, I recommended you the customize driver from the laptop manufacturer.

Well I guess just to finish this off, I am completely unsatisfied with the replies from both Intel and Panasonic, neither of you are willing to accept responsibility and provide help, instead Panasonic refuse to update the driver as they believe nothing is wrong with their one that they made in 2013. 2013... Let that sink in for a second, not only does it provide no support for Windows 10 officially, it also leaves me out of MANY performance fixes and bug patches if I managed to get the driver installed (Which would mean I would have to edit the drivers inf file myself). I don't mean to sound rude but if a company asked you to fix it you would so why is it soo hard as a consumer to get an answer and/or a resolution to this problem?

The Custom Resolutions/Modes feature has been removed and is not enabled on your computer from the Intel® HD Graphics Control Panel.
In order to access it, you will need to follow these steps:
- Navigate to the following directory; C:\Windows\System32.
- Look for the Intel application named CustomModeApp.exe.
- Open that .exe and you will be presented with an updated Custom Resolutions/Modes menu similar to that of older control panels.
