I launched the outdated Intel Driver & Support Assistant (DSA) v23.3.25.6 today and instead of auto-updating to the current v23.4.39.9 it failed to detect that Intel DSA was already installed and offered the latest Intel-Driver-and-Support-Assistant-Installer.exe.
I use Firefox as my default browser and launching Intel DSA v23.3.25.6 with all my browser extensions disabled did not help. I also browsed to https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html with my MS Edge browser (all browser extensions disabled) and had the same result. Before launching Intel DSA I confirmed that the Intel Driver & SupportAssistant service (DSAService) and Intel Driver & SupportAssistant Updater service (DSAUpdateService) were both running, and after launching I could see Intel DSA v23.3.25.6 running in my system tray.
Is this now expected behaviour where Intel DSA v23.4.x and higher can no longer auto-update, or is it time for me to wipe v23.3.25.6 off my system with the Intel Driver & Support Assistant Uninstaller and then reinstall with the latest Intel-Driver-and-Support-Assistant-Installer.exe offered at https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html?

ljmacri, Thank you for posting in the Intel® Communities Support.
We are sorry to hear about this issue and we will be more than glad to assist you with this matter.
For this scenario, and in reference to your question, yes, the program should update itself as it used to be, but there may be instances when an error occurs during the download or installation of an update with Intel® DSA:
So please, as you mentioned, go ahead and run the Intel® Driver & Support Assistant Uninstaller version 23.4.39.9:
Restart and install the latest Intel® Driver & Support Assistant tool version:
https://dsadata.intel.com/installer
If the issue remains after that, please attach the SSU report so we can verify further details about the components in your platform, check all the options in the report including the one that says "3rd party software logs":
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000057926/memory-and-storage.html
Also, please provide the information requested in the following link as well:
Any questions, please let me know.
Regards,

Hi Alberto_R_Intel:
Thank you for your response.
I followed your clean reinstall instructions and that appears to have solved the problem. I'll post back if Intel DSA fails to auto-update again when the next version is released.
