Intel Graphics Command Center Games Auto Detect/Manual Selection Issue

Hi,

In the Intel Graphics Command Center app in Windows 10, it cannot detect Asphalt 9 Legends game installed from Microsoft Store. But if I choose Manually Select option, then I can't find the game in the system drive (maybe hidden somewhere).

So how to customize my settings for Asphalt 9 Legends game which is installed from Microsoft Store in Intel Graphics Command Center?

Avinash_K, Thank you for posting in the Intel® Communities Support.

In order for us to provide the most accurate assistance on this topic, we just wanted to confirm a few details about your system:

What is the model of the motherboard?

If this is a laptop, what is the model of it?

What is the model of the Intel® Processor?

Is this a new computer?

Was it working fine before?

When did the issue start?

Did you make any recent hardware/software changes?

Please attach the SSU report so we can verify further details about the components in your platform, please check all the options in the report including the one that says "3rd party software logs":

Hi Alberto_R_Intel1,

Mine is laptop

Model: Dell Inspiron 15 3576

Motherboard: Dell ODTW31 A00

Processor: Intel Core i5 8250U

This is not a new laptop. It's been almost 1.5 years.

I don't know when this issue started but for the 1st time I tried to add Asphalt 9 Legends game (downloaded from Microsoft Store) to Intel Graphics Command Center (downloaded from Microsoft Store) but it is not detecting it.

As suggested by you, I had uploaded the SSU Report taken for my laptop.

Avinash_K, Thank you very much for providing that information and the SSU report.

Based on the SU report, we can see that the graphics driver currently installed is version 27.20.100.8681.

Just to let you know, we always recommend to install the graphics driver provided by the manufacturer of the computer, since that driver was customized by them to work with your specific platform.

I looked in Dell's web site and actually, the latest graphics driver they have available in there is version 27.20.100.8854, A06, please try a clean installation of that driver following the instructions in the link below:

https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=9cnxh&oscode=wt64a&productcode=inspiron-15-3576-laptop

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000057389/graphics.html

If the problem persists after that, then we can try a clean installation this time of the Intel® Generic Graphics driver version 27.20.100.9316:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/30266/Intel-Graphics-Windows-10-DCH-Drivers

In the following links you will find further details about the Intel® Graphics Comand Center and games:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000032930/graphics.html

To get in contact directly with Dell to gather the instructions on how to d a BIOS update to the latest version it is recommended as well:

Hi Alberto_R_Intel1,

Thanks for your reply!

I tried to install the latest driver provided by Dell which is compatible with my laptop (version 27.20.100.8854, A06) but its giving me a error that my OS is not supported.

1.JPG2.JPG

Do you recommend me now to install a latest driver directly from Intel website? Intel® Generic Graphics driver version 27.20.100.9316.

Also one more point to add, after using my laptop for 2 to 3 hrs, a process called Desktop Window Manager is using a lot of RAM (about 2GB). So I have to restart the system to solve that High RAM issue. After restart, dwm.exe uses just 40 to 50 MB.

I've raised this issue in Microsoft Windows community but they're saying that this is related to Intel HD Graphics RAM leak issue. Please also help me regarding this!

Avinash_K, You are very welcome, thank you very much for providing that information.

Regarding the Intel® HD Graphics RAM leak issue, please submit your inquiry on a new thread, for us to better assist you and in order to try to fix that problem:

https://communities.intel.com/community/tech

"Do you recommend me now to install a latest driver directly from Intel website?" Yes, please try a clean installation of Intel® Generic Graphics driver version 27.20.100.9316, and once you get the chance, please let us know the results.

In reference to the error message, "OS is not supported" when you try to install the driver from Dell, I can see in the link provided previously that the OS supported are:

Windows 10 64-Bit LTSC 2019

Windows 10, 64-bit

Since you are using Microsoft Windows 10 Home Single Language / 10.0.19042 Build 19042 it is expected to get that message, so:

How did you install that Windows* version?

Did you check with Dell directly to make sure it is fully compatible with their laptop?

Hi Alberto_R_Intel1,

Yes, I'll try clean install of Intel® Generic Graphics driver version 27.20.100.9316 from Intel website.

Please note that I've not changed the OS which came pre-activated with the laptop when I bought it. It is the same Microsoft Windows 10 Home Single Language when I bought it. At that time, Windows 10 version is in 1809 but now after Windows feature updates, now 20H2 is the current version in my laptop.

Edition Windows 10 Home Single Language
Version 20H2
Installed on ‎2/‎8/‎2021
OS build 19042.906
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.551.0

I think this does come under Windows 10 x64 (64-bit).

After installing the new graphics driver from the Intel website, I'll try to check my main issue is solved or not and post the update in this thread accordingly as quick as possible.

Thanks and regards,

Avinash

Hello Avinash_K, I just received an update o this matter.

Just to let you know, we are aware that Intel® Graphics Command Center has issues picking up games coming from the MS Store. This is because they use a different path and installation method. There is already a request to enhance this feature within Intel® Graphics Command Center but it is going to take a while for implementation.

So, thank you very much for your feedback and for letting us know about this scenario.
