Intel Graphics Command Center crashes when Global Settings selected

As per the title - Intel Graphics Command Center crashes every time Global Settings selected...

This happens on a Microsoft Surface Go, and my main desktop PC, but doesn't happen on a Microsoft Surface Laptop 3...

Why?

Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities.


To better assist you, please provide the following logs from each of the systems tested so we can move forward with your request.


-DXDIAG 


•       Go to Start > Run or Windows Key + R. 

•          On the Run prompt, type "dxdiag" then click OK. 

•          On the DirectX Diagnostic Tool window, click on Save All Information. 

•          Browse to a folder, type in a filename then click Save.

Based on our research and as you can see in the article down below, the Global Settings listed there can only be enabled on platforms with 10th Generation Intel® Core™ Processors or newer, If enabled on platforms outside of that specification you may encounter some unforeseen issues such as the one discussed.

In this case yes, it is expected due to the incompatibility of those settings with the CPU inside that laptop.

Yes - please explain how I can control Intel Graphics on systems such as the ones I have...?

I assume you have an alternative system available - as that would be logocal.

 

Oh, and  crash is NEVER acceptable as expected operation.

Hello Eugene7,

 

Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities.


In this case, you should still be able to manage your Intel graphics in any of the computers mentioned by using the Intel® Graphics Command Center just bear in mind that if we are talking about the global settings, those will only be at your disposal if the system has a 10th Generation Intel® Core™ Processor or newer.


It is worth mentioning that the Intel® Graphics Command Center should be able to function on any platform that has at least the minimum requirements down below; however, please bear in mind that if the platform being used is outside of those minimum requirements, you should still be able to install it from the Microsoft store but again unforeseen issues might happen and not all features may work with older Intel graphics drivers.

 

Minimum system requirements


  • 6th Generation Intel® Processor or newer


  • Windows® 10 version 1709 or higher


  • Windows® 10 DCH Intel® Graphics Driver version 25.20.100.6618 or newer

Well, I worked out the URL posted had an extra 'l' on the end...

But, I don't want the Windows Store version, as that will not work.

I need the old 'stand alone' version. Please let me now how to get that.

In this case, we need to inform you that we no longer manage neither the Intel® Graphics Command Center nor the Intel® Graphics Control Panel in our download center; therefore, the only way to get it will be directly in the Microsoft store.
