It does not matter if the TV is dupicated, extended, or single-screened. The second device, my Samsung TV, only shows the upper left corner.
I usually play games by connecting my laptop to the Samsung TV I have via the HDMI cable. This was working fine until today's Windows 10 update.
Now, my screen is fine on my computer, but is only showing the upper left corner of my computer when mirrored to the TV. This is driving me nuts. Everything was fine!!! I played games the first few days mirrored and the TV looked identical to my computer(mirrored).
Both screens are mirrored and set to 1600x900 resolution, but clearly, the TV is now only showing the upper left. It does not work to use extended screen, either.
Again, this only happened after the Windows 10 update today. The Fall Creators one. I have now rolled back the update and it is fine again.
However, I feel like the update will eventually force itself on me and I can NOT have my computer unmirrored permanently.

The driver you have installed is a bit out-of-date.
Probably "Fall creators update" works better with a recent driver from here: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/96551/Intel-HD-Graphics-620 Downloads for Intel® HD Graphics 620
To bypass message "best driver is already installed" or "computer is not validated" install driver via have disk method as described at:

(ignore prolog about MS surface)

Thank you. I have installed the driver you linked to using your directions, but I have yet to re-run the update to Windows.
I can not confidently mark your answer the "correct answer", but I bet you got it.
I knew about the driver, I did not know how to override the "not validated for my computer" part.
I hope they validate that driver for a wider range of machines.
