I have an Asus Vivobook X509UA with Intel HD Graphics 620. Until recently, I was able to connect my laptop to an external monitor without any issues. However, it suddenly stopped working.
I've tried several troubleshooting steps, including:
- Reinstalling the graphics driver
- Updating Windows
- Reflashing the BIOS
Each time, the external monitor would work for a day, but after restarting my laptop, it would stop connecting again. I repeated this process for about three days, but now, even after performing these steps, the external monitor no longer connects at all.
Is there a known fix for this issue? Has anyone else experienced the same problem?

If you have a problem like this, you unfortunately have to assume that either the PC, the monitor or the cable has a hardware defect. The only option is to replace the components mentioned in a process of elimination and thus find out where the problem originates:
- Try a different cable first.
- Does the monitor work with another computer? Maybe you know someone you can try with.
- Does the computer work with a different monitor?

The cable and monitor work fine with a different laptop. I attempted to reformat my laptop using MBR format, and it connected again for a day. However, after rebooting the laptop in the morning, it fails to connect again.

In my opinion, a complete reinstallation is not necessary. If there is no hardware defect, please check whether Windows is using the graphics driver provided by ASUS.
ASUS X509UA Graphics Driver V27.20.100.8681
If you have a laptop, you should use the device manufacturer's driver if possible.

I've tried installing the driver from both ASUS and Intel. While it works temporarily, the connection to my external monitor fails again after rebooting the next day. I don’t believe it's a hardware issue since I rarely use an external monitor, only when I need it for work presentations.

I assumed it might be a hardware defect because you described it getting worse at first and then not being able to connect at all.
Please provide the make and model of the monitor.

You might benefit from something like this to prevent loss or corruption of EDID data when the PC (or monitor) goes to sleep mode and back. Just linking to this particular one only as an example of an EDID emulator with passthrough, not to endorse this brand. There are other options, ones that can capture your monitor/display EDID and clone it rather than provide a "default" one.
