Intel HD Graphics 630 - Does it support 2560 x 1600 Resolution?

Hello,

I recently purchased a computer with an Intel HD Graphics 630 card. My monitor is a Dell 3007WFP which only has a Dual Link DVI output, and my understanding is that it only supports 2560 x 1600 or 1280x800.

When I connect my monitor, the max resolution I am able to choose is 1280 x 800. I am wondering if this is because my graphics card does not support the high resolution of 2560 x 1600? I am using a Dual Link DVI-D to HDMI adaptor because my computer does not have a DVI port (only HDMI and VGA). Could that be the problem why I am not getting full resolution, and if that is the problem, is there any way to fix it other than buying a new computer that has a DVI-D Dual Link port?

Thank you

Joe

...we do not support DVI-D dual link configurations, it is not supported by Intel...

Intel may not support Dual Link DVI but there are a number of third party convertors that convert Dual Link DVI to high resolution DisplayPort or USB-C which are supported by Intel.  You may have been using a standard DVI to HDMI convertor and it was dropping the resolution.

I've been using such convertors for many years with my trusty Dell 3007WFP with no problems on Windows 8/10/11 and Intel generations up to 12.  Unfortunately Intel recently introduced a bug in its Windows Iris® Xe Graphics Driver 31.0.101.4032 dated 1/3/2023 and it now disallows the high resolution mode, not even allowing it to be set using the Graphics Command Center Custom Resolution UI.  I am now stuck on 31.0.101.3959, but so far it is working just fine for me even on Windows 22H2.

Intel just released a new driver that has fixed the problem.   2560x1600 works again!

Thanks Intel!  31.0.101.4502 is great!
