Intel HD Windows 8 DXVA2 artifacts

Hello, im trying to make my celeron g530 to play blyray movies with low CPU load, so I used VLC player and MPC-HC, enabled DXVA2(EVR custom for MPC, enable video acceleration for VLC). And what a surprize! I got nice artifacts on video:

my driver(its latest, tried older versions - all give same artifacts):

When I disable DXVA2, it plays without artifacts, also I have absolutely no problems in other apps.

How can I fix it - I need DXVA2 ^_^!

I think it worked before, but broken now. If I reinstalled 3 drivers and got same artifacts in 2 different players, is it hardware issue?

My motherboard is ECS H61-I2 rev.1.0. But I guess it's cpu internal graphics/OS(hmm) issue.

I have Windows 8 Pro, fully activated and licensed but I cant reinstall it, because im using "free" Media Center key(which can be activated only once, I have previous serial which I bought from MS).

Hello NoAngel,

It seems you have tried several troubleshooting that I was going to advise you to do; however, there is something else I would like you to try and it is to update the codec's in your computer and if possible test another player so we can discard any possible hardware issue.

I see you have installed the latest driver we have from our side. In the case the issue persists after updating the codec's, I recommend you installing the driver available from MSI (system manufacturer) for your computer.

Thank You, Kevin!!! I got it, that was buggy codec from ffmpeg.

When I disabled MPC-HC internal H.264/AVC codec it used external Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder (Msmpeg2vdec.dll), Blu-ray video played ideally, without artifacts, very smooth, and only 5% CPU load.

As for video driver, I'll stay with build 3062 - it works faster, than MS default Windows 8 one, in 2D.

Problem solved!

Best Regards,

Dmitry Stepanushkin

Hello, could you please be so kind and tell me how did you fix the issue ? My vlc media player still has artifacts and I don't understand how to disable MPC-HC and install Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder ?
