Intel Iris Xe graphics not working with 3440x1440 resolution

Hello

I have a new Dell Inspiron and Dell 34" (S3422DW) monitor but the maximum resolution I am able to set is 1920x1080. The monitor supports 3440x1440.

I have the latest Dell driver for the Iris Xe graphics.

The Intel Graphics Command center DOES list 3440x1440 as a supported display mode.

Any ideas on how I can enable this resolution?

Thanks

David

Hi Mike,

I am experiencing the same situation mentioned in the title. I bought a new notebook and when I connect it to my existing Dell 3422DWG model monitor via HDMI, it defaults to 3841x2160 resolution and sets the scaling to 150%. I get the best image at 3440x1440 on my external DELL monitor, but even though I installed all the drivers I found, updated them and even reinstalled Windows, I could not achieve the 3440x1440 resolution. I downloaded the application you mentioned above and left the results here as an attachment. Could you please check and find a solution to my problem. Thanks
Kind regards

I have reason to believe that many laptop manufacturers limit the HDMI port to version 1.4 on devices in this class.

(1) DC-In hollow socket (power connection)
(2) USB-C 3.1 with DisplayPort
(3) VGA
(4) HDMI 1.4
(5)+(6) USB-A 3.1 (10 Gbps)

You will get the best results on your Dell S3422DWG monitor if you connect it to the USB-C port (2). This port provides a display signal using the DisplayPort HBR3 protocol (32 Gbps). This also allows you to use variable refresh rate enabled by the VESA Adaptive Sync standard that this monitor is equipped with. HBR3 is needed for 3440 x 1440 @ 144 Hz RGB.
