Intel PC platform GPU device recognition failure

My PC consists a Z890 ProArt with latest BIOS updated and a B0 step intel ultra 7 265 processor, with an Intel Arc B60 PRO graphic card. Unfortunately, this discrete GPU couldn't power any monitor only if I re-plug the video cable after boot with multi-form of adapters (mini-DP to DP or HDMI).

I couldn't fix this up, while this motherboard doesn't support selecting between iGPU and dGPU as primary device, the only selectable item from its GUI are "auto" and "disable" which didn't work.

Does anyone with similar configuration meet the same replug monitor issue? How to fix it? I do wish to get rid of this troublesome replugging.

Hello RadonSulfate,

Thank you for sharing these important details and the SSU log file. Since I saw that your BIOS firmware it currently outdated, let's proceed with updating the BIOS firmware first.

1) Kindly contact your motherboard manufacturer support team to guide you with this critical update and install the latest version (2302).

2) Please make sure to proceed with clean installation of the latest drivers using DDU.

  1. Download the Intel® Arc™ Pro Graphics - Windows* version 32.0.101.8306 for both Intel® Arc™ Pro B50 Graphics and Intel® Graphics then proceed with e the clean installation using DDU (in safe mode).

Let me know how it goes.

Best regards,

Hello RadonSulfate,

Thank you for posting in Intel Communities.

To better isolate the root cause of this monitor detection problem, could you please provide some additional details:

1) For the display Setup:

  • What monitor model(s) are you using?
  • What resolution and refresh rate is your monitor set to?
  • Are you using a single monitor or multiple displays?

2) For the current behavior:

  • Does the system POST/boot normally (do you see BIOS screens)?
  • Is the issue present from cold boot, warm restart, or both?
  • When you replug the cable, does it work immediately or take a few seconds?

3) Isolating driver & software:

  • Which Intel Arc driver version is currently installed?
  • Is the Arc PRO B60 properly detected in Device Manager?

4) For power & connections:

  • What PSU wattage are you using?
  • Have you tried different PCIe slots for the GPU?
  • Does the issue occur with both mini-DP to DP and HDMI connections?

5) Please also include if your Intel Arc Pro B60 GPU is Intel or an OEM (another brand)?

6) Please share your SSU log file so I can check your system configuration that may help with the further checking.

Looking forward to your reply.

Best regards,

JeanetteC.

Thank you for your reply! here's the relevant information:

1) Multiple monitors have been validated, JMGO 4K projector (4k@60), screen with unknown brand (2520x1680@90), USB video capturer (1080P60). Issues arises when single monitor is connected.

2) When monitor is connected to B50 Pro (It seems that my previous post is wrong as B60), the system didn't display POST message on first boot after a normal power off. The POST message shows up when I replug the video cable, enter the Windows OS and restart normally. (Apologize for my not sure about the term of cold/warm boot) The display recovers immediately after cable replug.

3) I chose a Non-Pro driver from Intel driver assistant, no difference were observed between two versions of driver softwares. The device is detectable under Windows Device Manager.

4) I used a 750W PSU, the GPU is installed on the first slot (Sorry for my incorrect post message, I used a B50) with motherboard suppling power. I haven't tried the other slot with PCIE lane direct to CPU. Both adapters cannot fix this issue, but replug.

5) This card is an Intel brand (Arc Pro B50).

6) I'll do this later.

Hi! I followd your suggested step but the monitor still doesn't work.

However, I tried a new video adapter which actively outputs HDMI (my previous cable seems to be passive at low price =), everything turns right, the monitor could display on cold boot!

Anyway, everything works now! Thank you for your following my issue! I do wish this product to be updated with firmware that escapes cable issue in the future.
