Intel PC platform GPU device recognition failure

My PC consists a Z890 ProArt with latest BIOS updated and a B0 step intel ultra 7 265 processor, with an Intel Arc B60 PRO graphic card. Unfortunately, this discrete GPU couldn't power any monitor only if I re-plug the video cable after boot with multi-form of adapters (mini-DP to DP or HDMI).

I couldn't fix this up, while this motherboard doesn't support selecting between iGPU and dGPU as primary device, the only selectable item from its GUI are "auto" and "disable" which didn't work.

Does anyone with similar configuration meet the same replug monitor issue? How to fix it? I do wish to get rid of this troublesome replugging.

Hello RadonSulfate,

Thank you for posting in Intel Communities.

To better isolate the root cause of this monitor detection problem, could you please provide some additional details:

1) For the display Setup:

  • What monitor model(s) are you using?
  • What resolution and refresh rate is your monitor set to?
  • Are you using a single monitor or multiple displays?

2) For the current behavior:

  • Does the system POST/boot normally (do you see BIOS screens)?
  • Is the issue present from cold boot, warm restart, or both?
  • When you replug the cable, does it work immediately or take a few seconds?

3) Isolating driver & software:

  • Which Intel Arc driver version is currently installed?
  • Is the Arc PRO B60 properly detected in Device Manager?

4) For power & connections:

  • What PSU wattage are you using?
  • Have you tried different PCIe slots for the GPU?
  • Does the issue occur with both mini-DP to DP and HDMI connections?

5) Please also include if your Intel Arc Pro B60 GPU is Intel or an OEM (another brand)?

6) Please share your SSU log file so I can check your system configuration that may help with the further checking.

Looking forward to your reply.

Best regards,

JeanetteC.
