Currently using a Huawei Matebook X Pro. After a driver update early this year the screen would start to flicker so badly that the laptop would be unusable. The only way to stop the screen from flickering is COMPLETELY DISABLING THE INTEL UHD 620 GRAPHICS DRIVER.
This would fix the flickering and make the laptop usable again but it means losing the ability to adjust screen brightness and play any type of even the lightest of gaming. Entering BIOS and the screen not flickering and trips to the Huawei Service Center have both confirmed that there is no issue with the hardware. Only disabling the Intel driver fixes the issue. Trying to disable the NVIDIA MX150 does not remedy the flickering in the slightest.
Ive tried the following to fix the issue:
- Upgrading the Intel Drivers: Still Flickers until disabled
- Downgrading the Intel Drivers: Still Flickers until disabled
- Updating Windows: Still Flickers until disabled
- Using the Drivers provided by the OEM on their website: Still Flickers until disabled
- 2 clean installs of windows: Will be fine until Windows automatically installs the Intel UHD 620 drivers then it will flicker until disabled.
- 1 clean install on a GPT instead of an MBR partition: Same result as point 5
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
