My Razer Blade 15 Advanced (Mid 2021) RZ09-0409 and many other Intel machines will not wake from sleep when using Intel driver 31.0.101.5074 or newer (including 31.0.101.5085).
Steps to reproduce:
- install any Intel 31.0.101.5*** driver
- restart once the install completes
- from desktop, set your machine to sleep mode
- wake the machine from sleep
Results:
The machine wakes up from sleep (fans spinning, keyboard lights up), but the screen is completely black (not even backlight).
Expected behaviour:
The machine should wake from sleep normally, being fully operational.
Note: Intel driver 31.0.101.4972 (and older) works as expected, with no problems. This is a problem introduced in the 31.0.101.5*** driver branch.
Machine configuration: Intel i7-11800H, RTX 3080, Windows 10 21h2

slash, Thank you very much for providing the SSU report.
Based on the information shown in the SSU document, we can confirm that the graphics driver version currently installed on your computer is 31.0.101.5085. Which, as you described, is provided by Intel®.
For this scenario, it is important to mention that the Intel® graphics drivers are generic. We always recommend to install the graphics driver provided by the manufacturer of the computer, since that driver was customized by them to work with your specific platform, especially in this case that the device is working with a dual graphics configuration.
I looked on Razer's website but I was not able to find the graphics driver, just a BIOS update:
So, I will do further research on this matter to try to find a possible solution for this scenario. As soon as I get any updates, I will post all the details on this thread.
Regards,
Albert R.

Hello slash, I just received an update on this matter.
After reviewing the case, we would like to let you know that we were unable to replicate the issue using the latest drivers 31.0.101.5085 and 31.0.101.5122
Since we did not see this issue on the latest version, please, as the last recommendation from our side, try a clean driver installation using DDU:
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000091878/graphics.html
If the issue remains after that as we cannot replicate the issue the next thing to do will be to get in contact directly with Razer Support for further assistance on this matter:

Hello, I'd like to reply to this hoping that my experience helps out with this matter. I'm currently having this exact issue that the original poster is having. I've done complete driver uninstalls, updated to the latest drivers for my processor, updated to Windows 11 (device came shipped with Windows 10), performed multiple factory resets, and did anything else that I could find on other forums having a similar issue. Not only does this occur on the latest drivers that I've installed previously for my processor (31.0.101.2115 and 31.0.101.2130), but this also occurs on the OEM drivers (27.20.100.8476).
As to how the issue can be reproduced, it always occurs when the laptop is sleeping for an extended period of time (at least 15-30 minutes). This also occurs (less often) on bootup. Like the original poster has stated, the laptop does wake up from sleep (with fans spinning and keyboard lighting up), but the screen won't display anything. I would have to do a hard reset to get my display back.
I'm on a Razer Blade 15 Advanced Model (Early 2020 - RZ09-0330) | i7-10875H and RTX 2070 Super Max-Q

Hi, I've been trying to troubleshoot my laptop for the past few weeks now, having no leads to anything until I stumbled upon this post.
I am currently having the exact same issue as the original poster. The laptop would wake up as it should (fans spinning and keyboard lighting up), but the screen wouldn't display anything, almost as if the computer "forgets" that it's there. As for reproducing the issue, this always occurs when the laptop has been sleeping for an extended period of time (at least 15-30 minutes), and sometimes occurs on bootup. I would have to perform a hard reset to get my display back. I've tried everything I could from uninstalling/installing new drivers, performed multiple factory resets, changed sleep settings, changed BIOS settings, and tried anything I else I could find online but to no avail. This occurs not only on the latest drivers that are available for my processor from Intel (31.0.101.2115 and 31.0.101.2130), but this also occurs on the OEM driver (27.20.100.8476).
I'm on a Razer Blade 15 Advanced (Early 2020 - RZ09-0330) | i7-10875H and RTX 2070 Super Max-Q.
