Iris Xe constant 100% usage in GTA V, low fps

Hi all,

2 weeks ago, I purchased a Samsung Galaxy Book Flex2 Alpha, because for what I am planning to use it for, it seemed like a very good laptop. When I was researching the GPU that this laptop has (Intel Iris XE) I found that it is capable of playing GTA V at 1920x1080p medium settings and do around 60fps. But when I play GTA V on this laptop, even if I turn it to bare minimum settings (Low at 800x600p) it still runs at pathetic framerates (sometimes as low as 3fps). I have tried every solution that I have seen online, and the amount of things I have tried to fix this issue would take a really long time for me to type here and I honestly don't feel like doing that right now. If I don't find a solution for this before the return period ends, I'm going to have to return this laptop, which is a real shame because it's a very good laptop in every aspect other than the GPU performance. I am very frustrated that I have wasted so much time trying to fix this issue to no avail, and will probably buy something nvidia if I return this laptop. If it helps, I will list the specs of the laptop:

Processor: Intel Core i5-1135G7

RAM: 8GB LPDDR4X

SSD: 256GB NVME SSD

GPU: Intel Iris XE

Display: QLED 1920x1080 13.3 inch

Attached below is a screen capture of a performance monitor I had running while cruising around for 5 minutes in GTA V, with the graphics settings set to low at 1280x720p

bbethan69, Thank you for posting in the Intel® Communities Support.

In order for us to provide the most accurate assistance on this topic, we just wanted to confirm a few details about your system:

Even though the laptop is just 2 weeks old, was this same computer working fine before with GTA V FPS?

If that is the case, by any chance do you remember the graphics driver that was installed then?

When did the issue start?

Did you make any recent hardware/software changes?

Which Windows* version are you using?

Does the problem happen at home or in the work environment?

Please attach the SSU report so we can verify further details about the components in your platform, please check all the options in the report including the one that says "3rd party software logs":

Any questions, please let me know.

The laptop did actually work fine on gta v for the first few days I had it, the problem suddenly just started one day. The graphics driver that I had installed was the latest version at the time, and I have reinstalled this graphics driver 3 times to no avail. Laptop has the latest version of Windows 10 installed, and this happened at home. I attached the ssu log below.

bbethan69, Thank you very much for providing that information and the SSU report.

According to the information showing in the SSU report, we can confirm that the graphics driver version currently installed on your system is 30.0.100.9684, which is the latest Intel® graphics driver version we have on our website:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/30579/Intel-Graphics-Windows-DCH-Drivers

Just to let you know, the Intel® graphics drivers are generic, meaning they might or might not work with your specific platform. We always recommend to install the graphics driver provided by the manufacturer of the computer, since that driver was customized by them to work with your specific platform.

I looked in Samsung's website and actually, they have a package of drivers for your laptop, those are the proper drivers for your machine, tested and validated by them, please try a clean installation of that driver packager following the instructions in the links below:

https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00083923/https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000057389/graphics.html

In this link, you will also find the Intel® recommended settings to play the GTA V game:

https://gameplay.intel.com/en-us/CPUAndGameSelected/Index/208658/3

We also advise to get in contact directly with Samsung to confirm if the latest BIOS version is currently installed or to gather the instructions on how to do that:
