Laptop won't detect my external monitor plugged with HDMI

Hello,

so I bought a brand new Lenovo Y5070 with windows 8.1/64 and use an external monitor with HDMI. Graphic cards are Intel HD Graphics 4600 and NVIDIA Geforce 860M. The driver I have is 10.18.10.3540, so it is up to date am I right?

Now everytime I reboot, in order to get my external monitor to work, I have to quickly disable and enable again the driver. Even tho this takes me an average of 15 seconds to do this, life is short and I would appreciate not having to do this each time. Thanks for your help!

Hello nicobkk,

I would like to check some more information about the configuration you have.

Please provide this:

  1. Are you using a direct connection to the monitor? No video adapters or video convertors?
  2. Your computer has switchable graphics so can you try disabling the NVIDIA card for troubleshooting purposes?
  3. If possible try different HDMI cable.
  4. Uninstall the current graphics driver and install the latest for your unit at this link:

If during the installation you get a message try these steps:
