Monitor blacks out if the Primary Device is set to Notebook...help!

I have been trying to connect a secondary display via my PC. I originally clicked on Intel Dual Display Clone when attaching a VGA cable. When this didn't work I changed the primary and secondary device. When plugging the VGA back in...the screen is black and I am unable to change the Primary & secondary device back to it's original settings.

Can somebody please help me...

Kind regards

James

Hopefully you have a solution by now but I would guess you need to disconnect the second monitor then disable the notebook graphics driver before starting all over by reeanbling the graphics. There is always a default driver for the BIOS and installation that is available. This could fix the startup. From other posts it sounds like laptops often blank their screens? If you have a "notebook" I would be surprised if it can drive a second large display.
