Since the new year my son's NUC12SNKi72 hasn't been able to display on a monitor. The Samsung M7 monitor knows there is a signal, because it automatically turns on when I turn on the device, but doesn't progress further.
I have logged in remotely using Windows App. Fortunately, my friend setup the computer with Windows 11 remote capability, but he isn't available to trouble shoot this problem.
The device manager doesn't show the Arc 770 GPU, only a) Intel(R) UHD Graphics and b) Intel(R) UHD Graphics
Have complete the following trouble shooting:
Downloaded updates from Intel.
Tested all all different 5 x possible ports - HDMI, both DP, both thunderbolts on three different monitors, with no adapters. None work.
Looked up other discussions on Reddit and Intel chats for answers.
Updated the drivers - no help because the computer doesn't see the device.
Below is a screen shot of the device details.
Any clues how to make the displays work again in simple to understand instructions, would be appreciated?

Does the display work for the BIOS (splash screen)? Can you use the F2 key to enter BIOS Setup (and have a display)?
You say you tried changing outputs. Did you do so with the power off? If not, try this. [Aside: I have seen some flakiness in Windows' handling of dynamic changes like this, but I don't expect this to make a difference, but worth a try anyway.]

Unfortunately, I can only access my computer when I log on remotely through the Windows App.
I can't view what the startup BIOS using the remote access app.
Grateful for your ideas.

I would also be interested to know whether a signal is output to the monitor during the power-on self-test (POST), i.e. before Windows starts and its drivers are loaded.

Yes it worked for a full year before this problem.
The only change I can think of is that we installed updates from Intel (about end Dec or early Jan). Think it was done through the alt+o hotkey, which doesn't seem to work no more. Have also received a subsequent update (mid Jan) from Intel.
I'll lean on my friend to see if he can take a look and see if the wrong update was installed.
Appreciate your help.

Please connect the NUC 12 Enthusiast Kit and the Samsung M70D with a so-called "Premium High Speed HDMI Cable".
Anynet+ (also known as HDMI CEC = Consumer Electronics Control) can be disruptive. I would recommend turning it off when using a NUC on the M70D. It is located in the monitor menu:
Note: This will also disable the ARC function.
If that doesn't help, please try reducing the capabilities of the HDMI connection in the monitor settings by deactivating Input Signal Plus:
This setting must be done separately for each HDMI port. It does not work globally.
After establishing a visual connection and updating the Intel graphics drivers, you can re-enable the port's advanced HDMI capabilities. For more information, please see page 113 in the linked monitor manual.

Thanks - tried this and used other older monitors to check and turn the power off then on, to no avail.
It did work for a year leading up to this problem.
I'll try the other suggestions.

I would point out that the Rear DP and HDMI ports are outputs of the dGFX engine (Arc A770M) while the Front/Rear TBT ports are outputs of the iGFX engine (which identifies as Iris Xe if two matched SODIMMs installed, or as UHD if only a single (or two unmatched) SODIMM(s) installed). From this and your results, I conclude:
- The dGFX engine is either disabled or not working.
- Only a single SODIMM is working. If you have two installed, one isn't working. In this case, try reseating.
There's something screwy going on here. If the dGFX engine is not working, the TBT (USB-C) ports should still be a viable alternative (regardless of whether running in Iris Xe or UHD mode). Either there is an issue in your test process or something much worse is going on. Try powering on the system with the monitor connected to one of the two TBT (USB-C) ports. The BIOS Splash Screen should be displayed. Then, see whether you can use the F2 key to get into BIOS Setup.
As for the dGFX engine not working, unless there is some tie to there being two matched SODIMMs installed (which I do not believe there is), I think it is a hardware failure. I see no way to disable the dGFX engine in BIOS Setup (in my cursory look-see), but, presuming you can get a display working via one of the TBT (USB-C) ports, you could try going into BIOS Setup and resetting the BIOS configuration to defaults (using the F9 key followed by the F10 key) and see if this gets the dGFX engine going again.
What exactly is your memory configuration? Do you have two matching SODIMMs or only a single SODIMM?
