NUC7i3BNB - Screen resolution issue

Hello

I just purchased the above nuc and installed Windows 10 with all the latest drivers.

I have noticed when when I lock the computer (Win+L) and gets back from lunch and logs back on again the display is reset to what looks like HD. All open windows are heavily minimized up in the left corner and all needs to be resized to my desktop resolution 2560 x 1440.

Is there a fix or workaround to fix this?

Hello Punster

Thank you for your response.

I see that you have installed the driver version .4901 of the Intel® HD graphics 620; you can try to install the driver version .4944, you can find that at the following link.

https://downloadmirror.intel.com/27484/a08/win64_15.65.4.4944.exe https://downloadmirror.intel.com/27484/a08/win64_15.65.4.4944.exe

Also, verify that your Windows® 10 is up-to-date.

Regards,

Leonardo C.

Hello Punster

Thank you for your response.

Could you let us know if the problem happens when your system goes into sleep mode and you wake it up?

For the driver update we can try to complete it following these steps:

1. Download the graphics driver ZIP file: https://downloadmirror.intel.com/27484/a08/win64_15.65.4.4944.zip https://downloadmirror.intel.com/27484/a08/win64_15.65.4.4944.zip

2. Unzip the file to a designated location or folder.

3. Right-click Windows Start icon and open Device Manager.

4. Click "Yes" when prompted for permission from User Account Control.

5. Expand the Display adapters section.

6. Right-click the Intel® graphics entry and select Update Driver Software.

7. Click "Browse my computer for driver software".

8. Click "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer".

9. Click "Have Disk".

10. Click "Browse".

11. Access the designated location or folder, and access a folder called "Graphics".

12. Select the file called "igdlh64" or "igdlh".

13. Click Open, then click OK, and finally click "Next". Drivers are now being installed.

14. Reboot your computer.

And let me know if you have any issues with the installation.

Regards,

Leonardo C.

Driver is now installed with latest version.

As I said in my opening post. If I lock the computer (Win+L) , go to lunch or is away from my computer some time. When I get back to wake up the display (there is no hibernate of the computer, but display is set to 1 hour inactivity timer). All programs are minimized to 1/4 of their size in the upper left corner of the screen.

This should be easy to simulate in a lab.

NUC7i3BNB + HDMI + Monitor resolution with 2560 x 1440 + Win10Pro X64 (pretty default settings) and all drivers/OS up-to-date.

Lock the computer and walk away for a few hours and get back.

Hello.

Just a quick update. I purchased a USB-C to Displayport cable to replace the HDMI cable and this solved my problem.

Hello

Guess I spoke too soon. Everything looked fine for a while. The NUC is overheating when using USB-C as display connection and refuses to start until it has cooled down.

Back to HDMI and same problem again.

Hello

Thank you for the response.

We see that your processor is working fine; to confirm with you if you use the NUC with the HDMI® you don't have the overheating situation?

Could you provide us with the model of the USB-C cable/dongle you were using?

Regards.
