@RandyT_Intel , this is a follow-up to my previous thread (No 10bpc on external monitor when laptop is closed, HDR is broken), where I complained about my external screen falling back to 24 bit when laptop screen is closed.

Here I'm adding the requested artifacts:

- dell-24bit.txt: ssu.sh output with closed laptop

- dell_and_laptop.txt: ssu.sh output with open laptop

- gdctl-show-v-m.txt: gdctl -v -m output

Video example 1: 24 to 30 bit transition on logout with closed laptop 

Video example 2: 24 to 30 bit transition on opening laptop (HDR gets enabled, but does not function properly, which is probably a different issue).

I tried to run a Wayland session on Ubuntu Live 24.10.1 (kernel 6.14), and it was also 30 bit with closed laptop. But no HDR option.

Thank you for getting back to us. For continuity, please note that most Linux-based distributions already include Intel® Graphics Drivers. These drivers are provided and maintained by the Linux distribution vendors, not by Intel, I recommend reaching out to your Linux operating system vendor for Fedora support, as this issue may be resolved through a driver update.

For isolation purposes, please try running this using Ubuntu, as it is the primary distribution supported by the Intel graphics ecosystem. Please let me know if there's any difference with the reported issue when using Ubuntu.

I am again off from my HDR monitor, and cannot do any further testing. I'll be able to come back to this thread in a couple of weeks, with more details, as I plan to try the latest Ubuntu version.

I completely understand your situation with being away from your HDR monitor, which prevents you from conducting further testing at this time.

Since this is your second thread creation regarding this issue, I'm happy to accommodate your testing schedule. Please take the time you need to test with the latest Ubuntu version when you return to your setup.

Sorry for the delay. Tested with Ubuntu 26.04 (works fine) and Fedora 44 (doesn't work) on kernel 7.0.4.
