Can anyone help? I bought a Gigabyte ga-z68ma-d2h-b3 motherboard and an Intel i5 2500k (HD3000) to upgrade my old HTPC but I can't use the DVI or HDMI when Windows completes its boot.
I can use hdmi and DVI to see POST & BIOS, and the Windows 7 boot graphics, but when Windows finally loads I lose signal....very frustrating and its forcing me to use my VGA connection on my TV (looks terrible).
I really don't want to buy a video card as I don't have lot of room (its a Micro ATX board and I already have 2 x tuners in the PCI Express slots so its a bit crampt).
I have tried all graphics drivers from both Gigabyte and Intel (old and new!), set the resolution at 800 x 600 & 1024 x 768, updated system BIOS to latest and I'm still no-where.
Please help!

Sorry Yups, you sure that is the right driver? When I select the driver, I choose:
Graphics > Processor Graphics > 2nd Generation Intel® Core™ Processors with Intel® HD Graphics 3000/2000
Latest available driver is 13th April 2011 (15.22.1.2361).

I seem to have a similar problem as you (although I haven't yet tested VGA output) so haven't been able to get any signal so far.
See my thread here:

After Yups gave me the advice of installing the recently released driver 8.15.10.2462, I connected up the HDMI cable, booted, saw post, BIOS, watched Windows boot graphics, then lost signal again....however....Windows 7 Media Centre loaded and I saw Media Centre!!! When I alt-tabbed to the desktop, I lost signal.
Basically, Media Centre's resolution must have been set to a resolution which was compatible with my TV (crappy 32inch LCD).
I went into Media Centre's display set up, wrote down the resolution it was using and booted in VGA mode (F8 after BIOS etc).I then changed my display driver to match Media Centre's resolution which actually worked.
I believe my issue is that when loading Windows after swapping the VGA cable for the HDMI, the Intel graphics driver selects the Windows recommended resolution regardless of what was in use before. The recommended windows resolution is not compatible with my TV which caused the problem.
If I booted to Windows in VGA and tried every resolution, I reckon I would have found a working resolution without download the newer driver.
Hopes this helps others!
