I just updated my motherboard, just as I do almost every year. Unfortunately, I was disappointed to see that after installing the Intel Graphics Driver v15.45.12.4552 that there is no "Gamma" setting the Intel HD Graphics Control Panel. The version I was running on my old motherboard had this option in the "Display > Color Settings".
It's not as if the Intel HD Graphics Control Panel has changed much over the years. I really don't understand how something so basic is already included. Is this something that is gonna be added in a future version or is there another way to access this option? Perhaps maybe a hidden menu activated by a keyboard shortcut?
Z170 Chipset
Intel i7-6770 CPU
Intel HD Graphics 530
Please advise.
Thanks in advance

Hello XenonKilla:
In regard to your question, yes, the gamma option is not showing in the beta driver version 4552, the reason for that is because that option will be available on Windows® 10 within the operating system options, there is no shortcut or hidden menu.
Since I do not want to give you false expectations, I just wanted to let you know that there is not official statement from Intel saying that the option will be available again on a new driver, let me apologize for this, that is the official information we have currently, so the best thing to do will be to keep checking our web site for future updates in regard to drivers:
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/ https://downloadcenter.intel.com/
Additionally the processor model that you gave us is not showing in our web site, the one showing is i7-6770HQ and that processor works with Intel® Iris™ Pro Graphics 580:

Any further questions, please let me know.

Hey Alberto,
Here is the ARK page for the i7-6700
https://ark.intel.com/products/88196/Intel-Core-i7-6700-Processor-8M-Cache-up-to-4_00-GHz Intel® Core™ i7-6700 Processor (8M Cache, up to 4.00 GHz) Specifications
Not to sound rude but, I find it completely absurd that you couldn't even find my processor model on the ARK website. Perhaps you might want to make yourself a little more familiar with the ARK website to prevent future embarrassment.
I understand what you're saying about WIndows 10 having a gamma setting already built in, seeing as how I'm on Windows 8.1 I really don't understand why Intel would cut corners by removing that option, especially with something as important as a DRIVER! I could understand if this was just some silly little software application, but drivers are ALWAYS supposed to be OS SPECIFIC!
Do you know if one of the old Intel HD Graphics 530 Drivers versions has the gamma option? I guess I could go search for the first available version and see if it has the gamma option or not.
In any case, Thanks for the reply.

Hello XenonKilla:
You are welcome.
Thank you very much for letting us know that information.
Yes, no problem I understand what you mean about ARK, is just that on the first post you gave us model number i7-6770 instead of i7-6700, that is why I was not able to see it on ARK, but thanks for clarifying that information.
Since the gamma feature was removed until Beta driver 4552, the previous drivers should have that feature available, please try the following:
Driver 4542:
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26404/Graphics-Intel-Graphics-Driver-15-45-?product=88345 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26404/Graphics-Intel-Graphics-Driver-15-45-?product=88345
Or driver 4501:
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26228/Graphics-Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-and-Windows-7-8-1-15-40-?product=88345 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26228/Graphics-Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-and-Windows-7-8-1-15-40-?product=88345
Please let me know the results of trying those drivers.
Any questions, please let me know.

Hey Alberto,
You're absolutely right, I did screw up and put i7-6770 when it should have been i7-6700. That is 100% my fault, and I apologize for my previous comment.
On a more positive note, I was able to get the "Gamma" setting back with driver v15.40.28.4501.
I had actually already tried v15.45.10.4542 last week, but unfortunately it does not have the Gamma setting.
But v15.40.28.4501 is working great and now being able to adjust my gamma down to 0.8 everything looks perfect again!
Hopefully Intel will decide to add the Gamma setting back once the BETA version is finalized. If not I'll just continue to use v15.40.28.4501.
Thanks again for your help and again I apologize for my mistake as well as my previous comment.

Hello XenonKilla:
You are welcome.
No problem at all, we are here to help, it is great to hear that with the driver 4501 the PC works great and you are able to adjust the gamma setting.
And yes, hopefully the new Beta driver will include the gamma setting, I will send your feedback to the proper department for them to be able to see your comments.
Any other inquiry, do not hesitate in contact us again.

Hey Alberto,
That would be great if you could do that, I'd really appreciate it and I'm sure other people who need the "gamma" setting will too!
Thanks again for all your help. Have a great weekend.

Hello XenonKilla:
You are welcome, you too.
Thank you very much.
Sure, I actually already sent the report to the proper department, hopefully the option will be back if there is a newer driver release, because as you mentioned above for sure there are other people that will also like to have the gamma option back.
Any questions, please let me know.
Regards
Alberto
