Noob needing some help setting up monitor

Hello,

Please go gentle, noob with good but basic comp skills.

I am trying to connect my new tower to my samsung le32b530 tv and use as a monitor. I am running win 8.1 with intel HD 4400, I have connected via VGI and have really faded colours, looking a little green. I then tried a dvi - hmdi cable and updated the tv's input to read correctly. The resolution was spot on but again the colors really washed out.

Thinking the vga cable might be old, I bought a new one but with the same problem. Connected vga to a very old monitor and get perfect colours. Connect the samsung to a dvd player and works perfectly, just doenst want to work with my new pc.

Am I missing something really simple?

I am sorry to hear that you have had issues setting up a TV on your new computer.

The fact that you were able to connect it using an old monitor it indicates that the graphics controller and video drivers are working properly. You may need to adjust TV native screen resolution at 1920 x 1080.

Please see the following URL for information about how to adjust resolution on your computer:
