Ntoskrnl Intel Graphics related error causing 100% disk usage and errors

After many hours with the laptop turned on and after one or many suspension sessions, when using Google Chrome with hardware acceleration enabled to navigate or running Google Meet or Zoom, the process ntoskrnl, run by the System, randomly and suddenly reaches 100% disk usage for some seconds, causing my PC to slow down significantly. Occasionally, this issue results in an error report with the following codes:

  • LKD_0x1B8_Intel_Blackscreen_Blackbox_dxgkrnl!DxgCreateLiveDumpWithDriverBlob_GEN12LP_BLACKSCREEN_UNKNOWN
  • LKD_0x1A8_KEYBD_HOTKEY_GraphicsUnknown_Intel_dxgkrnl!DISPLAYSTATECHECKER::CreateBlackScreenLiveDump
  • LKD_0x1B8_NV_Blackscreen_Blackbox_dxgkrnl!DxgCreateLiveDumpWithDriverBlob
  • LKD_0x141_Tdr:C_IMAGE_igdkmdn64.sys_GEN12LP_OGL_PAGEFAULT

I have already attempted the following steps to resolve the issue:

  1. Updating the Intel graphics driver.
  2. Running all relevant CMD commands to restore the system.
  3. Performing a clean reinstallation of the Intel graphics driver.

Despite these efforts, the problem persists. I am attaching all the necessary information for further diagnosis. Thank you for your assistance!

hello there.

The issue seems to be a combination of driver conflicts, system resource usage, and hardware acceleration, particularly when running Google Chrome, Google Meet, or Zoom. While you've already updated the Intel graphics driver, have you also checked for the latest updates for your NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 GPU? Sometimes, both the integrated and discrete GPU drivers need to be updated together. You can use the Intel Driver & Support Assistant for Intel drivers and GeForce Experience for NVIDIA drivers to ensure both are up-to-date.

Since hardware acceleration is enabled in Chrome, it could be causing conflicts with your GPUs. Try disabling hardware acceleration in Chrome by going to Settings > Advanced > System, and turning off Use hardware acceleration when available. Restart Chrome and check if the issue persists.

The error Tdr:C_IMAGE_igdkmdn64.sys_GEN12LP_OGL_PAGEFAULT indicates a problem with GPU recovery and timeouts. To address this, you can increase the TDR delay to give the system more time to respond before a timeout occurs. To do this:

  1. Open Registry Editor (press Win + R, type regedit, and press Enter).
  2. Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers.
  3. Right-click the GraphicsDrivers folder, select New, and then choose DWORD (32-bit) Value.
  4. Name the new value TdrDelay and set its value to 8 (this increases the TDR delay to 8 seconds).
  5. Restart your system.
