Hello pixxiepie,

Thank you for posting on the Intel️® communities. We understand that the AV1 encoding is not present when using OBS.

You mentioned that you disabled the igpu; however, you didn't specify what process you followed. It is important to mention that we recommend disabling the Integrated Graphics using the system's BIOS. Let me know if you have used this method to disable your igpu.

Also, we noticed that the driver version installed on your system is 31.0.101.4146. Please, perform a clean driver installation for our latest graphics driver, 31.0.101.4255. Sometimes corrupted files from previous installations of drivers can linger on a system which can cause driver updates to not work as expected.

Hey Jean,

So I've now done those above things, though the clean install route kept giving me errors, after trying a few different ways it seems to have worked now? It's reading as the updated version anyway.

Igpu is disabled in Bios now as well, doesn't show up in device manager any more, but I'm still getting no av1 options in OBS.

Updated logs are included, what can I do to get this working? Using this card for AV1 on OBS is literally the one and only reason I chose it, so I'm very keen to make it work!

Hello pixxiepie,

We appreciate your patience.

After reviewing this matter, we want to confirm if, by any chance, you have tested with different applications to see if av1 encoding can be used. Note that if it works in different apps, this could be related to OBS.

Also, can we get the steps you follow to face the issue? This will help us with issue reproduction matters.

Hello pixxiepie,

Before we close this thread, we would like to add that this seems to be a situation that might occur in OBS. You should take a look at this link for more info: https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/intel-arc-av1-shenanigans-obs-29-beta-3-and-obs-29-0.163122/

Hey there Pixxiepie.

Not sure if this relates to you, but OBS currently supports AV1 encode for record only, as no streaming platform currently supports AV1 streaming encoder uploads.

If you are streaming to Youtube/Twitch/Other you will need to use Quicksync H.264 to get GPU encode.
If you are wanting to just local record instead; make sure in the "Settings/Output/Recording" submenu that you set the Encoder there to QuickSync AV1 (usually by default it will just use the same encoder as streaming, which as stated cannot be AV1 until your streaming platform of choice supports QuickSync AV1 uploading).

Hope this helps, as it took me quite a while to find this info in the OBS support section.
