I have a project for LLM inferrence, the architecture is two asus nuc 15 ( intel 285h ) connect through thunderbolt, now the biggest challenge is intel 285h 's xe linux driver can't alloc > 50% ram as vram.
As vram is the key factor to LLM inferrence ( even more important than igpu speed) , the bugged xe linux driver hold this project's progress.
The meaning for this Nuc x 2 LLM project is so critical when APPLE have mac ultra 3 studio which have 512G ram ( 480G + can be used as vram ), and AMD have AI max +395 which can have 128G ram ( 96G as vram), both above platform can do deekseek r1 local inferrence, exept intel's either 285K or 285H or 288v ( all lastest cpu affected ) 's misfunction driver which can't not alloc 50% more ram as vram on either windows or linux platform.
Plesae fix the xe driver issue for igpus ( xe or xe2 ) by remove the 50% limitation for ram as vram.

What is the model of your Graphics controller?
asus nuc 125H, 225H, 285H 's integrated gpu,
intel core ultra7 265k 's integrated gpu
What is the complete model of the NUC system?
all asus nuc from 14 series to 15 series should have same issue.
Can you share the link of the Linux driver that you installed?
I tested ubuntu server 24.04 ( linux kernel 6.8 ), ubuntu 24.04 desktop ( linux kernel 6.11 ) and I also tried newest linux 6.14 stable release, all xe driver have same issue. I see some post in community, win 11 intel igpu driver have same issue.
What are the troubleshooting steps that you tried so far?
test on various xe+ architecture based integrated gpu, from linux kernel 6.8 - 6.14. xe driver have same issue.
only exception is 12700K 's igpu which is first gen xe architecture works in customized kernel. so this issue must come from xe+, to xe2 firmwire or xe driver implementation.
