So I just bought a new computer and I'm already having problems (the dvd drive not working as well)
I have a Intel® G31/G33 chipset which should support pixel and vertex shader 2.0 (according to the intel website)
yet when I run a system requirements check it says I have pixel 2.0 support but not vertex shader 2.0.
I have the latest version of directX installed and up to date drivers.
thanks

I also need to know if Video HW Transform & Lighting is supported, and if so... I need to get that enabled too.

Hi
The Intel® G31/G33 chipsets do support Vertex Shaders and Pixel Shaders however, Vertex Shaders are supported via software.
Here is a good table of shader support on Intel chipsets:
http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/cs-014257.htm http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/cs-014257.htm
Additionally, Hardware T&L is only supported on the chipsets in this table:
http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/cs-011910.htm http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/cs-011910.htm
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply
I just have one more question
what does it mean when you say it is supported via software?
I'm having getting programs that require vertex shader 2.0 to run because it says I don't have it.

Hi
Being supported by software means that the vertex processing is being done by the CPU and graphics driver. Hardware vertex processing would be handles by the GPU or graphics hardware.
