On Arc 140V GPU (Lenovo ThinkPad X9) running driver 32.0.101.6790, Netflix in Edge glitches when going fullscreen. Issue appeared pretty recently but was working fine since March. Updated Drivers and Edge browser to the latest version and its still the same issue

Hi @X9_04,

Thank you for posting here in our community. To effectively diagnose and address the issue you're experiencing, I kindly ask you to provide detailed responses to the following questions. This information will help us isolate the problem and determine the most appropriate course of action.

  • Please provide the SSU log report and share it here so I can review your system's configuration.
  • Have you previously performed a clean installation of the graphics driver, before using either an older or the latest version?
  • Could you please provide screenshots or recordings of the issue to help us understand the situation more clearly?
  • Have you made any recent software or hardware changes to your system?
  • Is the issue occurring only with specific applications?
  • Have you tested the system with an external monitor, and if so, does the issue appear there as well?

I look forward to your response and am committed to resolving your issue promptly.

Warm regards,

This problem is not occurring while connected to an external display

Having the exact same issues on my Surface Pro 9. As long as it is in fullscreen the screen jumps around.

Already did a full clean Windows install, still no luck. Disabling hardware acceleration works for Netflix but breaks other sites.

Also, I saw some quick glitches when browsing on various sites.

I reverted back to the latest default driver from my Surface Pro 9 by using DDU to remove all drivers and then have Windows Update download the 'latest'. The driver is quite old, june 2023. 30.0.101.3118. This did however not resolve the issue. It is still there.

I've made a short clip of what happens: https://youtu.be/fpgB4MLsT0Q

@X9_04 is this the same for you?

It still happens on the built-in screen when external screens are connected. However, if I move Netflix to the external screen, the issue does not happen.

It seems to be fixed now. After trying out all kinds of settings with refresh rate, HDR, power, etc., setting the scaling mode to GPU instead of screen scaling (hope I translate it correctly) resolved the issue. All other settings seem to have some effect but do not fix it, but this does. So in my opinion this might actually be some Windows issue rather then Intel, or so it seems.

Edit: problem is back after a restart. Will fiddle some more. But back to square one again I guess. Changing the scaling does not solve the issue anymore. Adaptive frequency and screen refresh either do not help.

It even happens when the video is on pause.

Hi @RandyT_Intel , I've tried to create a topic but both of them are automatically, directly rejected. I don't really understand why, but they are not in the 'awaiting approval' section. Could you please check this and help me out?

I'm experiencing this too in Edge.  I've also downloaded the Netflix app.  Like the browser, it works fine if it's not in fullscreen mode, but when switched to fullscreen, the screen moves up or down, somewhat randomly.  I haven't tried other browsers.

I also have this issue while watching Netflix movies via the MS Edge browser in full-screen mode.  I switched to the Chrome browser and the issue does not occur there.  Therefore, for me, it appears to be an issue with MS Edge.

so it fully works with chrome?? thats weird, edge works fine and with my VRR 120hz laptop its buttery smooth, Firefox was 60hz and so, idk if Chrome will support 120hz when VRR is enabled and also, HDR videos.

Now im getting the opposite issue with Netflix on Edge, before the screen would flicker when subtitles would come, now it works fine with subtitles until im watching something that doesnt have subtitles and boom, same issue, starts flickering like crazy

Did you ever notice that a moderator responded to you (3 times)?  I didn't notice because all of the notifications were landing in my junk mail folder (and I just discovered them.)   This is still an issue for me, but I haven't tried Chrome, and I haven't updated anything outside of Windows Updates.

Hi,

I don't know if you have gotten this fixed yet.

I had the same issue and I managed to fix it by disabling Hardware Acceleration in Chrome settings.

I have the same problem with watchting movies on full screen mode on my laptop (barely few months old).
This problem started recently.
Screen keeps jumping a bit up/down randomly.
I tested with Chrome and Edge (web browser) in auto and high settings (true Netflix account playback quality).

It seems to me also some kind of software issue, because recently it was still working fine.

No issues at all while using not full screen mode.

I had the same problem you described and found a workaround. It seems the issue is related to Chrome. The only thing that helped was downloading Firefox, which isn’t based on Chromium.
I hope this helps!
