Solidworks problem

I have Intel arc A750 graphics card. But it has a huge problem facing in solidworks.Gpu usage is too low and not constant. Lots of lags and slow performance may seen in Solidworks. Please fix this issue as soon as possible. Thanks.

I know that you have issues with solidworks and intel arc. Could you please tell me what steps you have taken to resolve this issue?

Hi Raiyan, 

The problem is Solidworks not enabling OpenGL by default for Intel GPUs, leading to all rendering being done by software by the CPU. Shocking, right?

It is an old issue that was never resolved. Also, it doesn't depend on the driver version, while the latest Intel ARC/Iris drivers corrected issues regarding OpenGL performance. Nevertheless, there is a workaround for this issue. 

You have to open the Windows registry (win+r regedit), then navigate to:

Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SolidWorks\SOLIDWORKS XXXX\Performance\Graphics\Hardware\Intel

, where XXXX is the year/version of your Solidworks, for example, SOLIDWORKS 2024.

You will find a REG_DWORD variable named Workarounds (funny, right?! A clear sign of excellent code quality); right-click it and select "Modify". Change the value from 10000010 to 10000009. Close the registry, launch Solidworks and enjoy.
