Supported resolutions and refresh rates for Intel UHD 630 graphics

Hi all, this is my first post here. I wanted to know which resolutions at which refresh rates are supported by the UHD 630 iGPU. My CPU is an Intel Core i5-8400 with a MSI B360M Bazooka motherboard. I was planning on getting a 1080p monitor with a 100 Hz refresh rate, but I don't know if it'll be supported by the iGPU. I'm just asking for reference, I'm going to get a dGPU anyway.

It will work regardless, but it may get lowered to 90Hz.

Unfortunately, I haven't tested such a combination myself, but you can consider the following.

According to MSI, this motherboard provides an HDMI 1.4 port, as is also provided for in the architecture of the Coffee Lake processors (8th Gen).

You have to note, however, that HDMI only works reliably with the CTA-861 video timings, i.e.

• 4K @ 30 Hz RGB 8-bit = 9 Gbps = 297 MHz pixel clock ... OK
• 1080p @ 120 Hz RGB 8-bit = 9 Gbps = 297 MHz pixel clock ... OK

Although 100 Hz is theoretically a subset of 120 Hz at the same pixel clock, problems can arise if the monitor only offers CVT-RB video timing to the graphics driver. Therefore, only 60 Hz or 120 Hz may be possible. When purchasing a monitor, make sure it supports at least 1080p @ 120 Hz.

Sorry for the late reply, I didn't get a notification for this reply. In that case I may get a 120Hz or higher monitor to be safe, if I find a good deal, but since I'm also going to buy another dGPU I'm not too concerned. Thank you for your help.

If anyone stumbles upon this thread, I bought an Acer K273 BMIX monitor and 100 Hz works perfectly fine, even in games.
